My auntie and uncle were in Lanzarote, in January and we have got really friendly with the china city staff. Then my auntie told us that it had gone we were so upset, we were looking forward to seeing fan and he's wife in February when we go over for a week.

There food was always lovely some nights it was off but most nights the food was fantastic, really friendly staff and great views. Sad to see it go hope fan and he's wife get another restaurant that is just as good as China City

Thank Cassie W

Don't know where the negative reviews come from. Have been going here for years and it's always been great. Last saw Vong Yi (the owner) in October. Returned now to find it's closed down. Well done negative reviewers, you've killed off another good restaurant.

Hope the new place can compete - will review it once open.

We tried this place based on reviews as the aesthetics of the place weren't great but generally TA wins through on reviews well it failed here bland food and retro feel of an 80s Chinese would not recommend cheers for the top off on dead lizard drink gave that a swerve
avoid this place for a while but a shame based on the reviews

Tucked away in the corner of the prom by the harbourside in Playa Blanca. Great food at reasonable prices. Very friendly, helpful staff - nothing too much trouble. Very leisurely and didn't feel at all rushed during our meal. Complimentary drinks at the end of the meal were very interesting.....women were given rum with honey and men were given a drink of some sort of chinese spirit. As both bottles were left on the table for us to help ourselves - we noticed that the chinese spirit had a lizard in it - this caused quite a stir but there was even more laughter when the waiter pointed out to us that we should look into the shot glasses that our drinks were served in before they were empty! I will not spoil the surprise but make sure to look into your shot glass before you finish your drinks - a definite ice breaker! All in all a very good restaurant that I would recommend to anyone.

Great food, was slightly put off by the 11.50 euro and a bottle of wine price - thought it would be cheap and nasty. Went off the menu with four of us (all good eaters) drinks and food bill around 90 euro for the first visit (we over ordered) and 80 euro for the second visit (we ordered well).

Was going to go back again for our wedding anniversary but the Rubicon Palace chef poisoned my wife with a dodgy prawn a couple of nights before (avoid Rubicon Palace at all costs).

Don't bother with the drink that comes from the bottle with a LIZARD IN IT - tastes as bad as it looks.
