We experienced a great week at Swaswara from being met at Goa airport, for the 3 hour drive to Swaswara, This is all [part of the service included in the price.

after a lovely welcome. we were shown to our villa where everything was shown to us. we were then able to go to the restaurant for dinner.

The restaurant has a great feel and atmospheric. The food is excellent being either fresh fish dishes or vegetarian All very good. The staff in the restaurant were so friendly and helpful.

All activities from Ayurvedic Massage to yoga and meditation are included plus boat trips and visits to local town of Gokarna for the temple and Farmers market. a boat trip is also offered.

The beach is a short walk of 10 minutes and next season there will be a Beach BBQ plus facilities beside the beach (Om Beach) for residents. the beach is not crowded and is patrolled for safety. Good sandy bays in either direction plus cliff walks.

the Konkan Villas are in local style with Laterite stone and thatched roofs. The Villas have a large bedroom and a large open area plus sitting are overlooking a lake. The bathroom has an outside shower (so niice in the warm climate).

Overall, an excellent week and so relaxing. Our Travel Company were excellent - Further information on the resort and arrangements can be provided on contact.

Recommended !!

Room tip: All Konkan Villas are the same so no need to choose.

If you are looking to disconnect from urban lifestyle and enjoy some me time, go for it. I had joined Women on Wanderlust to this place for a week's stay in July. The cottages, the location and ambience is beautiful. Once in the resort you are almost disconnected from the outside world. The cottages are lovely, very well designed and comfortable. OM Beach is barely 5 minutes away. Staff is very friendly and caring. Food is good but I thought, it could have been better. Enjoyed the yoga, massages, art classes.

However, not a place for those who are always on the go and want something to do all the time.

A relaxing and detoxing experience which is just 3 hours drive from Goa Airport . The road is excellent along the coastal areas. Once there the setting of this beautiful resort takes over your senses. The cottages are open to nature with a meditation room above each and an open courtyard and open toilet . The back faces a water reservoir where rain water is collected and is the only source of water to the resort.
The pool is long and nice. The Ayurvedic massages and doctors are very beneficial for detoxing.
There is a Yogshala in higher level where morning yoga is conducted.
The walk to the beach is just 10 minutes but worth it because the beach is beautiful.
The restaurant offers great variety of dishes and can be prepared according to your dietary needs.

This is a really gorgeous resort encompassing greenery, nature, birds, animals, beach, swimming pool and much more. I attended the Sharan retreat there which was fabulous. The Swaswara chefs are amazing and cooked up delicious meals as well as helping us during our cooking sessions. All resort staff are friendly and courteous. The villas are absolutely stunning and I loved the structure with the bedroom being completely openable to nature and the secret verandah hideaway on top where I spent time watching kingfishers on the tree outside the villa. Laundry facilities are excellent. The stunning yoga, meditation and art studios are fantastic. The meditation studio has amazing energy. The art teacher worked super magic with his art meditation and I loved going to his sessions and learning from him. The beach is only a few steps away and local guided walks are amazing. The langurs are to be found in the forest en route to the beach but also come to the villas. I will be going back (not something I often say about a place!). Loved it - even in the monsoon where it rained almost every day.

Mixed feelings
Food was made of natural n healthy ingredients but I found it heavy & difficult to digest.
I like nature but not enamoured by earth worms n snakes.
If you're allergic to things, definitely don't visit in rainy season. I have ended up with stomach infection & urticaria.
Massages are good but nothing so great.
Gokarna city was dirty.
People who are being exposed to yoga, massage etc might be enamoured with it but not someone who is experienced.
Nice swimming pool, library
Internet only in library
