A breathtaking place to stay at, close to all amenities and the Bruce Trail, which my boys and I frequented several times during our stay. Unfortunately, on the second and third day of our stay, a neighbour below us (closest neighbours are at the bottom of a hillside beside the cottage) made the decision to use a very loud machine between about 10am and 1pm, so we had to listen to that as we got ready to go out for the day. At all other times however, it was quiet, peaceful and secluded. A word of caution though: If you bring your dog, make sure it is completely house-broken and never has an accident. There is one carpet in the cottage (~ 1.5 feet wide by 6 feet long that runs between the bedrooms - everywhere else is just flooring) - for the first time in years our dog urinated on the carpet (I'm assuming due to an unfamiliar environment) and regardless of how well I tried to clean it up, the smell of urine remained and I was charged $70 for a new carpet. Provided you don't have a dog that might do this, this cottage is wonderful place to spend a few days at. The beach in Lion's Head is close by with yummy eateries and Tobermory is a 40 minute drive. If you plan to visit the Bruce National Park and the Grotto, be sure to reserve parking ahead of time online as they do not allow drive-ins.
We went up for a weekend getaway and had a great time. The cottage is private and cozy. The Bruce Peninsula is a beautiful place to explore. Next time we will have to go up for more time
amazing location with beautiful garden, 5 minutes walking from the lake, 10 minutes driving to lion's head. Perfect to breath outside town and discover the beauty of Bruce peninsula landscape.
