This place is located at Road #3 in Punta Santiago, Humacao, PR. It serves local (criollo) food like mofongo, carne frita, different types of seafood, etc. The quality of the food is pretty good (try the trifongo), and the value of it is fair. The only thing that stands out as bad is the service. They need to traine the personnel a little better.

The six of us came in early on a Thursday evening for dinner and loved the food and service. It seemed like a local place with appropriate decor and numerous fans keeping it cool. We tried the sangria albino and the fried cheese cake as suggested by previous reviewers and loved it. Others in our party ordered the whole red snapper, the skirt steak, and the fried pork as well as beans and rice. All were excellent. The owner was friendly and made the evening very memorable.

Casa Rustik hasn't been discovered by the cable travel and food channels yet. We had the trifongo and the cheesecake, and those were really good and filling. The restaurant is frequented by locals, has parking around it, and has a very friendly owner. While we were there, it was warm with pouring rain on and off outside, but the doors are wide open with the fans going, so it was nice to sip on the sangria and watch the world go by outside. What I myself would like to see is some kind of combo plate with more local food for us people who know little about the Puerto Rican cuisine. Restaurante Casa Rustik is closed on Monday and Tuesdays, not sure about Wednesday, so call ahead for hours. Also, look for it at the km 72.0 marking, otherwise it's easy to miss. I would recommend the restaurant and will be back.
