Sandaig is a brilliant house full of quality, variety, character and charm. Jackie was extremely helpful and very friendly throughout the booking process and in the lead up to our trip. We made full use of all aspects of the house, especially the immediate access to the forest through the back garden, the BBQ, the conservatory and the mountain bikes from the shed. Couldn't be more grateful for what was an amazing 30th birthday celebration!

“Great home away from home”
Reviewed 19 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We booked Sandaig as a treat for the family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

The large lounge area with sunroom and kitchen were perfect for our big group. Found the house to be very warm at night and found the beds to be very comfortable.

We had three cars which fit easily into the driveway with room to spare, and the back garden lead out onto a lovely forest walk which was perfect to walk in the evening time.

We had a toddler with us too, and were happy that a high chair was provided at the property, rather than worry about bringing our own.

The owners communication throughout our stay was excellent too, and I would advise that her directions were much more helpful than any sat nav would be!

Liked best: the living room/back gate that led onto forest walk
Liked least: the door to the upstairs room didn't close properly - possibly due to heat making the door swell.

“Just Perfect!”

To celebrate two of ours groups birthdays six of us decided to book a weekend away in Aviemore. In the run up to the weekend owner Jackie was extremely helpful and made sure everything was organised for our visit. She even made sure the heating was switched on before we arrived!

The house itself is just gorgeous, there was loads of room for 6 of us and 9 would still be extremely comfortable. We spend the first night out in the conservatory having birthday cake and enjoying the late evening sun - it was extremely warm despite being the beginning of May!

On the Saturday we took ourselves off kayaking for the day and it was fantastic to come back and build our own fire to cosy up to. We also went exploring in the woods that you can access through the back garden.

The kitchen had everything you could possibly ask for with an utility room off the side.

The shower has to be one of the most talked about things of the weekend though - it was amazing! The option of a wonderful power shower or an incredible rain shower head was enjoyed by all after the kayaking!

Two of the bedrooms are on the bottom floor so great if anyone with young children or anyone who struggles with stairs would still be more than comfortable. There is plenty of space for parking outside with a gate to close of the drive way to the road.

The location was great for us as we all had cars and we wanted somewhere quiet but it was only a 20 minute run to anywhere we wanted to go in regards to shops and cafes in aviemore to the water sports at loch morlich.

My dogs would have loved it and it was only an extra fee for cleaning if we did bring pets along.

I couldn't recommend this place more we absolutely loved it and would love to come and stay again in the future.
