“Firstclass Bed& breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2011

Had a lovely break at Braigha. We were made very welcome by Chic & June also Braigha
their pet dog. Breakfast was great and lasted us most of the day. Bed was very comfy we
had very restful nights.
Beautiful scenery and we were lucky enough to see dolphins otters & red kites.
A hidden gem would certainly return.

June and Chick are the nicest, most commited and most helpful hosts, we ever met.
Two lovely funished rooms, with many detailed decorations and private little things. We all slept wonderful. The two rooms have to share one bathroom, but if you are traveling with 4 persons, everything went smooth. The bathroom has all you need, everything is clean. Some helpful things like an enlarge mirrow are on guests disposal.
Their living and dining room, also for our disposal, is fondly furnished. The breakfast table is always so lovely decorated, within the Sutherland colors and tarten. June's breakfast never let any whishes unresolved.
Our conversations in the evenings has always been very informing, and full of interests. But also amusing and full of humor.
In addition we got a lot of tips and advises of what to do around the Black Isle. June borrowed us a Hiking Trail book of the area and packed us some nice things for our tours.
We stayed there the third time, definitely it was not the last.

It would be hard to magine a more charming, friendly, accommodating, lovely place than this wonderful updated croft on the Black Isle overlooking Cromarty Firth. June and Chic Whittet are so genuinely sweet and helpful and didn't make us feel the least bit silly for getting lost on the way there--2 or 3 times, as it happened--causing June to drive up the long driveway to the road to watch for us for when we finally managed to get there... Who could ask for more? Okay, a really terrific breakfast, touring advice, maps, coffee in a thermos, and restaurant recommendations and reservations? Yes, we enjoyed all that and more. Highly recommended!

Braigha is a hidden gem run by June and Chic who are really really wonderful. The B&B has a huge garden and faces the Cromarty firth. The location is actually “out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere” and it was beautifully romantic. The B&B has two bedrooms – a double room in the ground floor and a twin room in the first floor, sharing a spotlessly clean bathroom (on the ground floor). Dressing gowns are provided in each of the rooms which I thought was very thoughtful.

There are so many small things kept all around the house making it such a beautiful place. Tons of DVDs and a small TV are kept in the room to keep you occupied on that rainy day. June’s breakfast is tasty and amazing as like other Scottish B&Bs. Chic is a super friendly and nice guy and the B&B is named after Braigha – their small little dog (if you are scared of dogs, not to worry – Braigha is not let out of the hosts rooms unless you are comfortable).

Do try the Culbokie inn (a nice local pub / restaurant) when you are here – June will make reservations for you if required – and do try their yummy cheesecake :) The village of Cromarty is about 10 miles away and has a couple of more good restaurants (do remember these restaurants close early for the night). Dingwall is closer but is a dull little town.

Car parking is available in front of the house.

We felt very welcome by June and her husband. My partner and I had a nice big room and really comfy bed, my parents had a twin upstairs (with views) and an extra nest bed for my little sister (for whom they didn't charge), we shared a spotless bathroom. The place is a bit hidden but a great find and the breakfast was really good. Highly recommended.
