Ended up stopping here after trying at earlier places that didn’t meet our needs and so glad they didn’t as this is a lovely gem of a place.

Parking at the front or in the car park at rear for the community hall (they ask for a small donation for parking).

Entry through the shop into what feels like the front room of a house It’s not a large place but has two seating areas.

We turned up just as everyone else had!

Service was very good, very friendly and chatty.

Food was delicious and nice coffee as well.

As it was busy and they believed service was slow they offered a free coffee top up. A great gesture in this day and age were customer service goes amiss!

Would recommend to stop here.

A quintessentially English tea room. It's easily missed as you whizz past but keep your eyes peeled and take a break (parking round the back) to sample their afternoon tea. The menu also includes full English breakfast, toasted sandwiches and much more. Attentive friendly service and very reasonably priced. The adjacent shop is very well stocked and there's a great selection of artisan products such as jams, sweets and cakes for sale, many on display around the tea room. You can even pick up a few vintage postcards to send to the folks back home. Highly recommended.

Booked for afternoon Tea or a friends birthday. What a little gem,it was like stepping back in time. You had to walk through the shop to get to the Tea room,it was like Open all Hours!! they seemed to sell everything. The Tea room itself was so quaint. And the afternoon Tea was excellent, lovely fresh sandwiches, huge slices of delicious homemade cake and a scone with jam and cream the size of a saucer(we all had to take these home because we were so full) The best cup of tea in ages in a miss mash of cups and saucers. Wonderful.

Living locally near Kirkby Lonsdale i have an abundance of choice when it comes to Tea rooms and cafes. Having an hour spare i decided to try Cowan Bridge Tea Rooms for coffee (I will travel for good coffee!). Walking in to the quaint village shop took me back to my childhood. Tinkly welcome bell, smiling faces and lots of sweets and goodies everywhere. Ignoring temptation I walked through to the tea rooms. The charm continued with homemade cakes (award winning carrot cake in the good food guide) , tea pots with cosys on, real china and a calming air of another era sadly lost. My coffee, a special house blend, was perfect served in a cafetiere with a jug of milk so i could have it exactly as i want. Coffee drinkers and indeed tea drinkers too will understand this!. I took note of the daily specials black board and will be back for the medallions of beef in a giant yorkshire pudding with stilton sauce. There is a lovely menu including full English breakfast through to light lunches and more. All around for sale are jams, pickles and lovely fayre to remember your visit by. A little gem to relax and unwind. Love it.
