4 stars because, the atmosphere was nice although it was busy it wasnt chaotic!
Waited at least 1 hour for food, which was a bit long! Family ordered fish and chips, scampi and i ordered the gammon! All were very well received but my gammon was very disappointing. It was overcooked on one side and very bland in taste - not a bit salty! This was a little disappointing as everyone had raved about the place and my gammon had let me down. I’m aware that the carvery is the most popular dish and so the focus is probably more on that since that is what the restaurant is well known for!
The bug slices of came are nice, i got the carrot cake, although the cake was more of a normal sponge rather than actual carrot cake sponge but the cream was to die for!
I would visit again to give the carvery a go but this place isnt high on my list for best gammon.
