Lovely building. Helpful Staff. Comfortable beds and clean and spacious bathroom with separate bath and shower.

We were able to turn the heating off in the room and open the windows so that the room was cool at night.

The restaurant was beautifully appointed and clean and breakfast was well done with the usual cold provisions and well cooked hot breakfast.

We had a meal on the first night in the restaurant and enjoyed it.

Room Tip: We had a good room which was on the same side as the dining room

Heacham Manor caters wonderfully for golfers. We are not but we appreciated the quiet surroundings and a comfortable room with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is of the production line variety so you ,:should be aware of the "rules". Number 1 get your toast before you order your breakfast. There is only one - conveyor style toaster with one speed so queues form easily! Your cooked breakfast will arrive within 2 minutes of your ordering it - hence toast first unless you like cold cooked food. It can be confusing especially since the menu makes no mention of what to do. Dinner is not so complicated but the menu is limited - and quite bizarre. Avoid the risotto unless you are a beetroot addict! Overall the service was good but one visit is enough.

We stayed with secret escapes on an excellent b&b deal. We stayed in a cottage room which was good for the money but not overly plush. The double was huge as was 2 twins pushed together. We loved the hotel, it has 2 bars overlooking a lovely links golf course which you can walk across to Hunstanton. You are also free to use the facilities at Searles nearby. The bar prices in the hotel were reasonable & the breakfast was the best we have had in a hotel for a long time. The cooked options were cooked to order and delicious. The staff were all young & really friendly. Hotel has a lovely vibe about it & we will def be back!

Dear susie1962uk,

I was so pleased to read how much you enjoyed your visit to Heacham Manor Hotel. The deal with Secret Escapes was a bargain but keep a look out as we have many offers throughout the year directly with ourselves.

I look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Kind regards,

Visited with teen. Rooms basic appointed with en-suite toilets, no air-conditioners, were told to leave the windows open at night or use the two-wheel air-polluter left dejectedly in the room. Breakfast is slow, not so varied on choices. No on-site attractions apart from a spa in an entirely separate building (over-16s only and no pool but there is a jac, steam and sauna and it is quiet) and a golf course, so you would have to go into town or to the promenades on nearby beaches for entertainment. The hotel is rated AA 3-star as suggested over the door. Chalets we stayed in were also occupied by guests who appeared to have a rather shallow and not-so-well-travelled view towards guests of a different appearance, who were determined to register their hostility towards us, we felt this was done on racial grounds. Isn’t variety the spice of life, does travelling not broaden the mind? Seems not so for some.

Hotel is not well-lit throughout, lobby is overflowing with pamphlets of paid attractions and it was like an untidy advertisement campaign. There is no CCTV on the vast grounds or the car park, confirmed by management, and there is also a duck pond (looked deep) with no CCTV around it or barriers, warning signs or railings near it that we could see, in very poorly-lit grounds. We became anxious about security following an incident at the hotel which, had it been caught on camera it would have been easier to investigate and may have led to criminal charges being brought against the culprit guests, which would have reassured us to post a review that was positive of the hotel’s security and complaint-handling arrangements. Seriously in my view, I would not take young children here or leave them playing around, as the duck pond is right in the middle and nothing stopping kids from straying towards it in the dark. Finally, if you have a seriously expensive car, or value your family’s four-wheels whatever it may be, I’d recommend a tracker device or steering-lock immobiliser before parking here overnight due to the abject lack of security and there is no concierge or controlled entry onto the hotel grounds from the street. The area is teeming with beaches and open spaces and there is a well-kept golf course at the Manor. The spa is about the only nice thing.

Room Tip: Stay in the main hotel building if possible

Dear Lady T,

Heacham Manor Hotel is a 16th Century Manor House set in lovely grounds and as you rightly say is a 3 star hotel. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the golf course you can see wildlife including an abundance of hares, deer, owls and such like; just a walk across the golf course will bring you out at the beach; there is a duck pond where many children and adults alike enjoy feeding the ducks and other waterfowl that visit. These may not be attractions for yourselves but we have many guests who enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the setting and visit us time and time again.

The hotel is staffed 24 hours a day with night porters making regular checks throughout the night around the whole premises. There is lighting down the driveway which is close to where the pond sits and around the cottages and car parks. We do not have issues with crime at the hotel and as you are aware the incident you give reference to was thoroughly investigated by the hotel's management team and we were satisfied with the outcome.

It is a great shame that you did not appreciate Heacham Manor Hotel.

Yours sincerely,

Victoria Witheridge

We stayed here for three nights and pretty much enjoyed it. The main house or manor is a fine building with comfortable bar lounges and lovely views over their golf course from the dining room. Most of the bedrooms seem to be in separate blocks, ours being a short walk away past a lovely duck pond. The blocks are attractive but whilst the room was big and comfortable there was just one arm chair. The bed was big, comfortable and the en-suite had a proper bath. Always a plus point for me.
But we both felt the décor was somewhat soulless.
The staff are polite but there was little warmth or engagement.
The food was good and the menu range sufficient for most tastes. Some of the nicest croissants in the world of buffet breackfasts.
In all this is a pleasant hotel with good wi-fi connectivity but which to us lacks some of the finesse we have come to enjoy in other hotels we use.

Dear Jawenold,

Many thanks for your review following your recent stay with us.

I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. I am unsure as to why there was only one chair in your room, I will ask the team to check to see which room you were in and rectify this. We do have some quite new staff members and customer engagement is something we are working on. I am pleased to hear however that you enjoyed the food, especially the croissants.

I hope you would still visit us again in the future.

Kind regards,

Victoria Witheridge
