We stayed here one night before our walk to Orvieto. While the choice was the walking tour company's I would probably have chosen it myself based upon reviews. The room had a terrific view of the Pitigliano old town and the spectacular walls, particularly at night. The room was clean and of reasonable size. The bathroom was OK but I must agree with other reviewers that the towels are an issue. We did run into the same type in at least one other hotel in Tuscany. Breakfast was OK with the usual continental fare. Wifi was pretty good and reliable.

This hotel is an older style hotel on the main road of Pitigliano. The room was good sized, as was the bathroom. The bathroom had been updated reasonably recently, and the shower had many buttons including options for a sauna. Some people have said they did not like the woven towels, but we found them quite absorbent and quick to dry. We had dinner in the restaurant, and the food was very good. The home made pasta was excellent! The only detract ion here was the noise of passing traffic.

Breakfast selection was limited but adequate. It was sometimes hard to find the staff, but it is a small, family run place. Some areas could use a bit of paint, but otherwise it was fine.

We stayed one night here on a trip across Italy. One night was enough. It is in a good location right next to the old town area. The staff were reasonably helpful although they did seem a bit suspicious of everything that was going on around them. The room was small as was the bathroom and to dry yourself after a shower you had to use what appeared to be tea towels, so it was difficult to get dry. We didn't eat dinner there but did have breakfast and it was good enough, although no fresh fruit. I am not sure of other hotels in the area, but this was alright for the one night we stayed there.

We spent the month of June traveling around Italy with another couple, and staying in many B&B's and hotels; a joyous experience in every respect. PItigliano is a fascinating town with a haunting history and intriguing atmosphere; well worth a visit. This hotel, however, is another story.

We had reserved Albergo Guastini, initially intending to stay 2 nights and explore the surrounding Estruscan region. However, our first night's stay was unpleasant to say the least, so we left early. The hotel is extremely tired in every respect, and shows every sign of a place which needs a major overhaul or a complete shut-down.

Our room was extremely small (not unusual; we deal with that often), but also had a bad odor emanating from the bathroom when we returned at night; rather like a cesspool odor. There was no AC, and (again typical) no screens. We kept the windows open, given the smell, and during the night a bat flew into our room which ended our sleep. Our friends were up all night too, unable to sleep in their uncomfortable bed with broken springs.

Having paid an extra 7 Euros for a hotel breakfast, and expecting the usual lovely feast, we were disappointed with paltry offerings of some yoghurt, cereal, and burnt toast (no cornetti, pastry, or fresh fruit!).

The management was okay with us leaving after one night - I think they know there are problems.

It appeared that we two couples were the only guests in the hotel, and now I understand why it is not heavily booked. Perhaps the family is deciding to close the hotel; they give every indication of no interest in maintaining it.

Stayed here with my wife, sister and husband. Albergo Guastino is an old style hotel located near the entrance to Pitigliano's old town-in fact, it is walking distance away. Its location is the best feature of the hotel. We had a room with a wonderful view of the old town particularly at night. However, the room itself was quite basic, and the bathroom was not any different. We had booked half board--so we had breakfast and dinner at Albergo Guastini. The food at both meals was very good--not great, but definitely above average. Our visit to the old town was extremely enjoyable, particularly the old synagogue which, in our minds, was the highlight of the old town. Pitigliano has an old Jewish heritage that we found quite fascinating. We had picked Pitigliano to stay at as it was only a little over an hour away from Civitavecchia where we were catching a cruise ship. Again, Pitigliano's location and Albergo Guastini were just what we needed.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room with a view of the old town.
