We had a week at La Masseria in early April.
What an amazing place. The family that own and run the villa were extremely hospitable. Nothing was too much of a problem.
The villa and the surrounding garden is very safe for our 4 year and 1 year to roam around. The italian people are so very friendly and everything is child friendly. The little village at the bottom of the hill has everything you need from an awesome deli to restuarant and pharmacy, and of cause ice cream shop.
We loved the place so much we are planning a trip back there next year with a bigger group.

Loved staying here, the kids roomed free, the yard is inclosed and safe. The accommodations where great. It's country living not 5 star, so be prepared for little hot water, lighting the stove with a lighter, etc. But the house was clean, and worked well for us to have two separate rooms, and a washing machine. We took the train from Empoli, parked at the train station for 3 Euro's a day. Went to Pisa for 11 euros, Cinque Terre 20 euros, San Gimignano (had to drive), Florence 8 Euros and drove to couple of wineries in the area. The host was very welcoming and had lot's of information to share. Beautiful view and great weather.
Stayed here for, sadly, only two nights. Accommodation was comfortable, views breathtaking and location very handy for daytripping around the countryside. Would definitely like to return for a lengthier stay!
We have just returned from a fabulous month at La Masseria and would thoroughly recommend it. We were a group of 9 with 2 children for the first 2 weeks and a group of 8 adults for the second 2 weeks. The location of the house is second to none with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside and if you enjoy walking you can do this straight from the house. The location makes it easy to visit the major attractions of Siena, Florence, Volterra etc. but there are also numerous other small towns and villages that are well worth a visit. The owners of the house (The Robucci Family) are wonderful people and nothing is too much trouble for them. The house is extremely spacious with plenty of terrace space for eating outside (which we did all the time). It is very private but with the added bonus of the village of Martignana at the bottom of the hill where you can get groceries, fresh meat and vegetables. There is also a very good restaurant and a small cafe/bar where you can get fesh coffee and a croissant for breakfast. I cannot fault this house and will hopefully return at some point in the future.
We were surprised when we arrive at the top of the hill to La Masseria. The accomodations were more than comfortable and the house was very clean. The breakfasts that Saida made were absolutely delicious and most items were made from their farm. She was a most gracious host . Dottie Anderson
