“A Tuscan Gem in any language”

You don't stay at Villa Belpoggio, rather you lose your nationality and become a Belpoggian. After you've experienced the place it's difficult to envisage staying anywhere else in Tuscany. Paula's breakfasts are incomparable and for someone from Australia her coffee is sublime. Agnese and Maria manage the place with unwavering patience and charm and are experts at inculcating the Belpoggian culture. The place offers breathtaking views and it is close to everywhere in Tuscany including a host of great restaurants. If you're not already a fully qualified Belpoggian chances are there are still delightful dimensions to Tuscany you are yet to sample.

Room Tip: Try for a view across the valley

We enjoyed a fabulous Tuscan vacation based at the Villa Belpoggio in Loro Ciuffenna. The fully restored inn is beatifully decorated in authentic Tuscan style. The rooms are spacious and and comfortable. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. The breakfasts each day were delicious and thoughtfully prepared and served. The views overlooking the valley and across to the mountains are breathtaking, as are the sunrises and sunsets over same. It is conveniently located within easy driving time (1 - 1.5 hours) of about everywhere we wanted to go in Tuscany (Florence, Sienna, Montalcino/Montepulciano, etc.) Despite the beauty of the building, grounds and the setting, what makes the Belpoggio truly special, and distinguishes it from many places we have stayed, is how remarkably helpful, attentive and genuinely caring are the staff - Maria, Agnese and Paola. They are a fantastic team that made our stay immeasurably more satisfying. We will definitely return to the Belpoggio.

Villa belpoggio is most beautifully situated in the tuscan hills. The building is stunning, the garden has lovely views over the valley. Everything is very relaxing and secluded so that you never feel the place is crowded, even in high season when fully booked.
The staff is a great asset, being extremely friendly and helpfull.
Breakfast is very good and diverse as well as fresh and original.
Only small downside is that you always need your car to go out for dinner as thus is not possible on the grounds (approx 10 to 15 min drive to restaurants, staff ha great suggestions and will make reservations for you).

The moment we arrived at the Villa, we were met by the enthusiastic and friendly staff, who couldn't do enough to serve us or make us feel at home. From offering us cake and drinks and an impromptu lunch on arrival and serving beautiful homemade breakfasts and occasional dinners, to helping us plan our daily travel routes and suggesting places to explore and go out to eat, we couldn't have asked for more hospitable service from Maria, Agnese and Paula, who we were really heartsore to leave at the end of our stay. The Villa is simply but authentically furnished and is very clean and comfortable with pretty grounds and a beautiful view of the vineyards and distant towns; it is also very quiet and a real sanctuary. That said, the only downside is that there is little to do at the villa itself (we were there during April so swimming wasn't an option) and it is a fair distance from any of the main Tuscan attractions such as Siena and San Gimignano. However, I think driving on the windy Italian roads is part of the experience, as is the feeling of total relaxation and escape. We definitely plan to return.

Room Tip: All rooms are similarly but uniquely decorated, and some have either a bath or a shower, while some...

I booked Relais Villa Belpoggio after reading Trip Advisor Awards 2012 and the Villa had the award of best service. It is not difficult to understand why. Everybody from the reception to the owners of the Villa are extremely friendly and helpful. Also the place is very peaceful and with stunning views.
We enjoyed every single minute that we spent there.
