I had the chance to organise a wedding at Villa Pitiana last September and despite we went through some initial organisation issues during the interregnum of the old and the new event manager, the feedback from my clients was fantastic.
I've read some of the bad reviews this Villa collected in the last few years and I felt the need to provide my contributions as someone who has long experience in the industry. This is NOT a luxury Hotel and if this is what you are looking for then do not book. Room rates reflect this and I believe that given the location and the services you get, Villa Pitiana represents really good value, especially for large wedding groups. Rooms are generally very spacious, and despite the furniture maybe a bit old and dated, the entire building preserve its charms and character. Outdoor spaces are great for wedding breakfast, BBQ, Pizza party and other events. Mario, the chef is a talented and great guy and the food served during the wedding dinner on Sept 10th was absolutely outstanding...and I'm a very fussy one ! The general manager is really flexible and happy to accommodate any request, just talk to him ! All the staff was nice and friendly with my team and myself and we are going to have Villa Pitiana in our portfolio of venues we like to recommend. The internal courtyard is an amazing space for a wedding ceremony, either religious, civil or symbolic. Indeed if you are planning to have your wedding there you will have to consider to help the general atmosphere with decoration/flowers and lightings, but this also give you the chance to personalise your event even more. In the end we had guests travelling from all over the world and received only fantastic testimonials.

Room Tip: Best rooms are located in the Villa. Rooms in the Locanda Chiassaia are very rustic and basic, but t...

One night in this hotel made me wonder how did it get to be rated "luxury hotel"?
The list of shortcomings would be endless. One sound advice: this place is awful, despite the beautiful location, due to poor management.
Stay away from it, period.

We held our wedding a Villa Pitiana at very short notice and it was nothing short of perfect all thanks to the expertise of Emanuela and her team. Her eye for detail was perfection and nothing was a problem. Everything ran like clockwork as Emanuela promised and I was nothing short of delighted! The food was superb and suited everyone of all age ranges from 9 to 90 in our particular case. The grounds are fantastic and we have so many beautiful photographs taken both inside and out, you will not be disappointed.

I would highly recommend booking wine tasting we had a great afternoon and tried local wines and produce which were all wonderful.

The villa is situated about twenty minutes by train from Florence which again is highly recommended.

It is exactly what you would expect, old, rustic and very beautiful a jewel in the Tuscan Hills and I would be happy to recommend to anyone and I will definitely be going back :)

Very interesting place. Villa is an understatement, more CASTLE.
If you're looking for a 100% interesting / unique place, Pitiana is it.

Food / Chef: Very Good, and Chef Mario is most helpful, and the two early
am servers are fabulous

Service: Prompt, and courteous
Rooms: Unique, and interesting
Business / Internet Services: Good, but internet needs a constant "wireless
signal" available through repeaters placed throughout
the building" This is a technical upgrade, that would
immensely aid business types needing real time access.
**This is from a business type perspective.

Rating: 4/5 -

Room Tip: Ask for the east side suites facing the mountain. It's the oldest part of the castle from the 13...

We stayed here for 2 days on our journey through Italy recently and it was the best accommodations that I think I have ever had or close to them. This place was, first of all, a historical gem with a story (it was a convent first, then a farm for a while), with wonderful service, good food (awesome breakfast for sure), great grounds and an amazing view. If you prefer the comfort of a Four Seasons room or luxury appointments everywhere, this place might dissapoint you a little. But, it was exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful scenery, peaceful, very attentive service and a very nice room (we were in a suite, which was a loft, with a spacious living room below).

Room Tip: Pick a suite, but don't have dinner at the hotel... too expensive and not worth it.
