Description: Welcome to StockHouse Restaurant Welcome to StockHouse Restaurant, in the shadow of the magnificent Trim Castle. Our restaurant is the result of four people with an avid love of good food, craic and value for money. Born out of eating out in various establishments both in Ireland and abroad the result "is not just a steakhouse but a restaurant that specialises in steak". Our aim is to provide our patrons with not just a memorable dining experience but a memorable night out! Head Chef, John and his team have one goal in mind and that is to provide consistently beautiful food at every serving. With our front of house crew you are in safe hands and they will do their very best to make sure all your needs are met as promptly and satisfactorily as possible. Our love of the historical town of Trim and indeed our beautiful country is evident everywhere in our restaurant from the early years featuring 'The Yellow Steeple' and 'Trim Castle', through to the filming of Braveheart and the Glory Years of Meath Football ... Check out our walls, they make for both great reading and viewing!! Take time to have some banter with our floorstaff, they love nothing more but be warned, if you upset them too much you may find yourself confined to our in-house stocks!! And don't forget to keep an eye out for our resident mascot, 'Stocky' ... You'd never know when he might make an appearance. Enjoy, Carmel, Orla, Mick and Tom

Although steak was not in our minds for dinner, it took up the menu. There were other things, but the 6 oz filet was perfect! Cooked to our desired choices, its accompaniments were tasty and generous. The host and hostess, the owners, were delightful, checking on us frequently.

Good experience. Food was good and the service was great. Great value for the money. Only problem was our own. Three couples and each had large bills so that change could not be given. However, we were able to charge.

We were passing through Trim twice on our trip and ended up going here twice. The proprietors were very nice and they mix great drinks!

This restaurant was recommended by our B &B host and we were certainly glad that we took her advice! The food was delicious---if you love salad you'll have to try the goat cheese salad as it was fantastic! The service was attentive and quick and we were asked not only about the quality of the meal, but also how we were enjoying the Irish experience. When Tom, one of the owners, learned that we didn't tour the castle, he gave us a short history lesson and when we were finished with our meal, he escorted us upstairs where he showed us a mural that detailed to a greater extent the origins of the castle/town. A very friendly place that made you feel comfortable in all ways!

I cannot believe this place has had so many good reviews. It was the reason why I brought my family out for a special meal. As soon as we arrived, the staff were extremely friendly. The decor of the restaurant is strange...it looks like it's trying to be a traditional pub or museum. It could be so much nicer if they removed half of the tacky pub plaques from the walls.

But, the food overall was very poor! My wife ordered the hamburger which was completely tasteless and dry. It looked like it was put in the microwave. I ordered a creamy pasta dish, and oh boy.....it was creamy! It tasted like a pint of cream was added to it with no other flavours. It was so hard to eat it I stopped after a few mouthfuls.

As mentioned above, the staff were excellent and didn't charge us for everything and were also apologetic. Maybe the thing is to only order steaks here? But, based on the remaining dishes on offer, I would never return here again or recommend it.
