We visited Sandhills at the beginning of April, two adults and three children.
We had a wonderful stay, Nuala was so welcoming and helpful. We've stayed in quite a few holiday let's and this was definitely the best equipped house we've ever stayed in. We especially appreciated all the toys and outdoor things for the children to enjoy, the trampoline, go-kart and football were very popular with them!
The location is great and we loved being able to walk down to the beach and our older son loved the dogs especially Bruno.
We definitely hope to return next year!
This is a fantastic house with everything you could ask for. Nuala was an unbelievable host with scones & cookies on arrival. As it was the week after Easter, Nuala had even hidden small chocolate eggs in the garden for the children to find. I don't think there is one thing Nuala doesn't think of, from the type of client visiting to the facilities in the property. There is a lovely beach on the doorstep and plenty of places to visit. We will definitely be visiting again soon. Thanks so much Nuala. The McGuirk Family
Nuala is the perfect host and her house is spacious and lovely. My children loved her garden, chickens (and fresh eggs!), her sweet dog Bruno, and the go-cart! They also enjoyed walking to the beach and dairy farm that were just a few minutes away from the house. Nuala provided yummy scones for us and the kitchen is well equipped. It was nice to have a washer and dryer available. Additionally, the house has everything you might need for an Irish holiday--even lots of wellies in the garage! Nuala answered our many questions about sightseeing and gave us a wonderful restaurant suggestion (Naughton's in Kilkee--the food was so good!). Nuala went above and beyond to make sure we had a fabulous holiday.
Because we were so enthusiastic about this accommodation, we spent our annual holiday a second time at Sandhills House in Doonbeg.
After a long journey, we did not have to go straight after the arrival to shop, because Nuala had already filled the fridge with milk, juice, butter, scones and more. Delicious.
The house is spacious, perfectly clean and exceptionally well equipped. You feel at home, when you come in. And it is lovingly furnished with many small details. The garden is gorgeous, with all the flowers and fairy homes.
We had just arrived, our children aged 11 and 13 could not expect to go to the beautiful beach. Bruno the family dog welcomed us friendly and was immediately ready for a walk. Also his buddies Bailey and Max walked with us. After the walk our son could not wait to help on the farm with milking and he still knew exactly how to do it.
Also this holiday we had a lot of recreation but also many activities. In this area there are so many things to discover and we enjoyed the day trips very much. Cliffs of Moher, Moyasta Railway, Aillwee Cave, the Birds of Prey, the cliffs of Kilkee and many more. The advices from Nuala were very helpful and we were able to ask for information at any time of the day.
Thanks for all Nuala.
We can highly recommend this accommodation and we will certainly come back here.
Having stayed at Sandhills house for two weeks in July last year we had decided to come back for another 3 weeks this summer, as this place was so beautiful and Nuala such a wonderful host. As we come from Switzerland, our two girls didn't speak English (a little in the 2nd year) while we stayed there. Nevertheless they enjoyed to spent some time with Nuala in the evenings, on weekends or in the garden and they found ways to communicate with each other - it was Nuala who helped them to overcome their uncertainty as they could't understand and talk much in English. She teached them how to play biliard, took them along to the cowshed or to the beach and enjoyed the little conversations with them.
Besides taking care of her guests personally, Nuala also provides the house and the surrouding garden with reasonable care and a great concern for many details. The house is very clean and well equiped, you find a lot more than what you would expect from a holliday destination. There were even food and drinks available on the day of our arrival. What a nice welcome after a long trip!
Also the garden is very neat and full of lovely flowers. She takes care of her hens with lots of love, as well of Bruno, the family dog. Our girls loved to spend timewith the hens and Bruno, in the monrings they went to pick up the fresh eggs from the hen's house and if Bruno joined us for a walk to the beach this was always fun and much appreciated - for at least a few weeks of the year our girls could enjoy pets :o)
In summary we were just delighted from Sandhil's house and it's owner, so it had been an easy-taken decision to come back for a 2nd stay. Just as Ireland isn't that close for us we might not come back that soon...But if we ever make holidays on Ireland again, I am sure we will spent some days at Sandhills house again!
