Let's get this out of the way, the Arte Hotel & Spa is not a 5-star hotel (by international standards), but is a very good 4-star hotel and MUCH better than the vast majority of hotels in Bulgaria.
The rooms are decent (we opted for the 2 room appartment - 2 adults and 3 kids, 9, 6 & 4) which gave us two decent rooms each with en-suite plus twin beds off the living room. LOTS of space over two floors plus three bathrooms - ideal!
The decor is 'rustic' themed and consistent, the materials / finish quality is good but not 'luxury'. I actually quite liked the decor and found it fit in well with the surrounding countryside - yes, it is not in the centre of Velingrad, but it would be noisy, congested etc if it was. Much better to sit on the balcony looking out over the hills and countryside.
This hotel is ideal for families - lots of activities for kids, play areas, swimming pools and feels VERY safe. It is our second visit there this year. There are also a lot of young / older couples enjoying the relaxing spa facilities.
It gets much busier on the weekends.
Yes, it is expensive when compared to other hotels in the region - but it is much better than the alternatives. I can't believe some of the reviews moaning about the price - erm, you know this...Let's get this out of the way, the Arte Hotel & Spa is not a 5-star hotel (by international standards), but is a very good 4-star hotel and MUCH better than the vast majority of hotels in Bulgaria.

Overall, a VERY enjoyable stay and sure we will go back again over the coming year or two.More
