Owner description: Half way between the town of Santa Elena and the Santa Elena Preserve the Sky Walk is located: This complex use trails, suspension bridges for a more tranquil introduction to the ecology and natives of the forest canopy, constructed within the cloud forest. It allows a vision of the forest from a different perspective which starts with a walk on the ground taking you up to explore the treetops, a hardly discovered habitat, called the “canopy” with a naturalist guide. Also discover the night wildlife at our Sky Walk Night Tour.

We opted for the unguided walk, and were utterly underwhelmed. It felt like walking through woods that could have been anywhere, we saw and heard absolutely zero wildlife, and the view from the hanging bridges was not particularly spectacular. For that, we paid $88 for a family of four. We were very aware having done the guided walk at Arenal that it's hard to spot wildlife even for the guides, but it seemed like in general there was much less to see. No way should they be charging $25/adult for a self guided walk.

We had booked the triple ticket here. This included the cloud forest walk, cable car and zip lining. The cloud forest walk of about 2 hours very pleasant, and we understand you do not get animals etc to command. But this was pretty boring. Great to see all the trees and brackens etc , but our guide was not very well informed and if you wanted more from this we would recommend you get a private tour guide who has the gear and the info.. We saw a couple of tiny birds ..at a distance,2 caterpillars and a very doubtful view of a sleeping sloth!! But on the up side the zip lining was well worth it. It was safe and well organised with a short training session and the 1st run is a practice to get the feel of it and that takes you to the cable car ride. (if you have a Go Pro camera, bring the head strap as there are fitments on the helmets, otherwise they charge $10!! to hire one) Also if you have pockets that seal well, bring your phone or small camera for pictures. The experience was amazing sailing over the canopy at up to 400 feet and up to a max of 45 miles and hour. The crew did all the braking for you and as long as you did as you were instructed that was fine. Highly recommended. We had a great view of the Arenal volcano and out to the coast from the top of the cable car ride, so even if you are not going zip lining, it is worth doing the cable car, there is a little cafe at the top.The bus shuttle picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel or in town.

Recently have a guided tour around Santa Elena skywalk. It was a great experience to be up in the canopy of the forest. I had a guided tour as I tend to miss everything, so I found that useful to point things out that otherwise I would miss.

Don't miss the hummingbirds at the end of the tour

Enjoyed the walk, but no good if you don't like swinging bridges. A bit steep in between some of the bridge's. You need to be quite fit

Went on about an hour walk and over 6 hanging bridges above the forest floor. Even some people with height issues were ok. Bridges wing a little but are pretty solid. The forest is dense fauna with lots of diversity. The paths are well marked and safe.
