It's been a long time since we've visited The Captain Digby as it was always shabby and uninviting. Food used to be poor standard aswell so it was a shame considering the beautiful location.
However, we'd heard that the Sunday lunch was good so took a chance.
Such an improvement !!!
The food was good standard for a pub restaurant. The children enjoyed their meals too (excluding the mash potato which was dry)
Still has areas for improvement such as better seating outside, and more varied healthier choices for kids menu.
However, credit to staff who were very friendly and efficient and to the chefs who provided a good standard of meal for all.

Was intrigued to visit due to coastal location. It's a typical pub with families and locals enjoying drinks and fab food.
We were greeted, seated and drinks order taken very quickly. Great menu choice. Staff checked on us about 3-4 times during service and genuinely wanted to ensure that we had what we needed. Really impressed!

Been here numerous times, once in a group of over 30 which they catered fantastically for us. Many other times just with a friend or partner, food has always been really good though their crackling with their roast dinner tasted like pure salt, other than that I've enjoyed many other things I have had - paninis, salads, delicious side dishes all very nice and fair enough prices.

Staff are fantastic, better than most of the local restaurants actually.

Very family orientated restaurant and pub so great to take kids should you have any, perhaps less enjoyable for a couple looking for a quiet bite to eat but I've always enjoyed it and it's never been unbearable with too much noise so no complaints from me.

Food is nice - especially the king prawn starter and the liver and bacon but service is awful. The service staff are really nice and try their hardest but they get "way laid" by big tables full of noisy children - do not go here early doors as the noise from the kids is appalling - maybe after say 2000 it will be better but if you are looking for a romantic setting with some peace and quiet this is not the place.
