“Wonderful, relaxing break in a lovely cottage in a superb location”
Reviewed 5 October 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Had a lovely stay in this stylish, well equipped cottage, the owners have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. The location is stunning and there´s so much to explore in the surrounding area that we really needed more time. We´ll put that right on the next visit.

“The perfect place to relax and unwind!”
Reviewed 26 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Sue's cottage is situated in Symonds Yat which has the most beautiful country side to explore. Justine (owner of the cottage) has thought of absolutely everything to make your stay at Sue's cottage a relaxing, peaceful, 'home from home' experience. The cottage is spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds made up for your arrival. The 'have you forgotten anything?' box filled with essentials such as toothbrushes/razors are testament to Justine wanting you to get the optimum out of your stay.

The cottage is within very well kept communal grounds with an allocated parking space outside. The small back garden is filled with wildlife that is so enjoyable to watch! We had not been to this area before, however there was plenty of leaflets/reading material in the cottage to help us plan our stay. The views from the cottage are beautiful! In the morning we looked out onto the valley with the morning mist coming off the River. Sue's cottage could not have been situated in a better place to explore. There are spectacular walks right on your doorstep for everyone of all abilities to enjoy.

Our two sons love going off track to explore and climb. We found old ruins in the forest which were part of the mining community from years gone by as well as caves and good trees to climb!. The boys loved going on the hand ferry (a 2 minute walk from the cottage) to cross the River Wye to enjoy the restaurants/tearooms on the other side. Although we didn't, many people hired canoes to row down the river, which looked lots of fun. Organised classes were being held for people brave enough to try out the rapids. We took a boat trip which took you for an hour's tour of the River Wye, with the captain giving a talk about this historic are, which was very interesting.,

As a family we had a great time at Sue's cottage and will definitely be booking up to go again!

“Perfect cottage in a perfect location”
Reviewed 23 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Sue's cottage had everything we could possibly need to make our stay perfect. I have never stayed anywhere quite so organised, clean, comfortable and welcoming. A lot of thought has gone into making this a great place to spend a self catering holiday but with super eateries nearby. The location is wonderful up above the Wye surrounded by forest walks. Our dog loved it.

“5 Stars”
Reviewed 22 September 2012 for a stay in July 2012

This is a very special place. We have enjoyed being in the midst of such unspoilt scenery. We crossed by the ferry and climbed up to Yat Rock and saw the Peregrines. Joined the RSPB. Crossed at Biblins Bridge, hoping to get back on the ferry from the other side, but river too high and had to walk back!
Loved watching wildlife from back window. Saw a fox this morning.
Would love to come back to this cottage, Justine, you have thought of everything in this cottage for the comfort of your guests. Thank you."

“Great cottage in wonderful location”
Reviewed 16 September 2012 for a stay in July 2012

Sue's cottage is well equipped and well presented. We had a great few days there. It's in a quite location but both local towns have plenty of shops and supermarkets. It's only a short walk from a few different bars/restaurants so not in the middle of nowhere either. No wifi in the cottage but one of the neighbours had a hotspot when we visited.

Peter, many thanks for taking the time to write a review, it's much appreciated. Currently, we do not offer Wifi, we have been waiting to see if there is a demand for it. However, it is available for free at all the local pubs and hotels which are all in walking distance. Thanks again, Justine.
