Read about this place on here so decided to check it out. Managed to get a table but had to be prepared to share it with others. They are huge barrels with short stools around them so roughly 8 people can share one. Had the combined sliced meat platter and tomato bread plus a simple salad of tomatoes, onions and green olives for starters, plus some ham croquettes. Beer (Estrella Galicia) on tap and then the rotisserie chicken!!
Fell off the bone and was just out of this world.
A few days later, we returned and had pretty much the same again minus starters as the chicken and chips with a side salad plus croquettes were more than enough.
Service was friendly but when the bill came, we got over-charged. Ordered one portion of croquettes but got charged for two. This happened twice. The waitress apologized and said that her colleague misunderstood her scribble. So if she does not change the way she writes down the orders, and the chef/bar staff cannot read it and double charges the customer, this will keep on happening so check your bill.
Other than that, a great experience to a traditional Spanish Bodega with plenty of atmosphere. Go and check it out if you like chicken (also rabbit, suckling pig and pork cheeks on offer but pre-order only). Excellent value for money by the way.
Enjoy and lick your fingers afterwards !
