Last week week we had diner at antica bottle during our stay in Scansano. First we had a "primi"
Pasta course which was fine. After a long wait our "secundi" arrived. We ordered four Sirloin dishes and they served two 'well done' steaks and one grilled chicken, no fourth dish. We asked the waiter about it and he spontanous didn't understand us. An other waiter could tell us that Sirloin was chicken cut in stripes. Still completly amazed about this answer, they served the fourth dish. grilled "Sirloin" chicken STIll RAW! That was our boiling point. We paid and quickly left.

During a vacation in scansano we visited for dinner! We entered because of the amazing smell! We got the last table in the restaurant and quickly ordered! The first course of pasta was great but already a little weird since we got different things then we ordered! The second course took a long time and when it finally arrived the freak show started!! No one understood English and here sirloin means the way of cutting the meat. The evening ended with raw chicken and a strange after taste! A shame that a restaurant like this exists in a food-loving country like
Italy!

My husband, son, and I stumbled upon this restaurant on our failed trip to find a winery that did public tastings. We enjoyed the server, the chef, the restaurant, and the food so much we were glad we hadn't found the winery!! The server is a precious woman who speaks over five languages. I didn't speak Italian well and she didn't speak English well but we were able to converse in Spanish just fine! Crisis averted!! She went out of her way to explain just how fresh the pasta was and just how healthy the preparation was. We just found her to be adorable. We were stuffed at the end of the meal and chose not to have dessert after lunch, so she brought us a complimentary dish of (the best) biscotti I've ever had in my life and a liqueur to dip it in. Unbelievable. We would return in a heartbeat but Scansano is a very lengthy trip for us! We all strongly recommend this ristorante.

We stumbled upon this place quite by accident and decided to have our Sunday lunch here. Am really glad we did! The place itself if filled with character, we were offered a table next to the open fire place which was lovely on a chilly afternoon. The children ordered a mixed grill which had the the various types of barbecued meat. Despite bring very picky eaters, they enjoyed it thoroughly. My husband and I had the house antipasto with the various types of prosciutto and salami, cheeses and spreads, absolutely divine. If you weren't particularly hungry this would be enough. We followed up with a pasta dish for main, absolutely divine. Excellent local wine and homemade bread topped everything off nicely.
