During our visit to Saint Padre Pio Pilgrimage Church and Tomb, in San Giovanni Rotondo (Foggia region - Italy), my wife and I, stayed in the La Solaria Hotel. It was excellent from all points of view: very friendly staff, super comfortable and clean rooms, great location...

We had a family of 11, they showed concern about us since we missed the last train that day, and kept in touch with us until we arrived at San Giovanni Rotondo next day. I couldn't tell them enough how much we appreciate all the attention they had for us, the rooms super clean, their restaurant food was excellent and accommodating to church schedule..only 300 meters from Padre Pio Sanctuary wich made it very easy to walk back and forth.Everything they cook is fresh and amazingly tasty, for extremely affordable price. I thank the whole staff for making a difference in our trip and making us feel cared for.

My wife and I stayed at this Hotel on October 16, 17 and 18 of 2012.

Since it was weekdays, not too many people, unlike the weekends where it is totally booked.

The staff was very friendly, helpful and did their very best to speak english, it also helps that i can speak conversational Italian. We were treated like family..!!!! The best service we had ever received from any hotel! It is a five min. walk to Padre Pio Sanctuary....will very much return to this hotel..The food is excellent!!

We had room 207, which comes with a balcony and extra beds. During the day it would be noisy due to it's proximity to the road, however, at night it is very~very quite, no traffic at all and I slept like a baby...

To get there, we took the train from Rome Termini station to Foggia Train Station, and, the hotel provided a transfer service from the train station to the hotel. Cost 40 Euros each way~~WORTH IT. Takes about 35 min travel time.

Room Tip: Room 207 is a corner room with a balcony that has a great view, plus extra beds...

We booked La Solaria just for one night, as we were travelling from Rome through San Giovanni Rotundo to visit Padre Pio's tomb and church, and end our trip in Florence.

We were very happy with La Solaria , especially after horrible experience and huge dissapointment with 4* Hotel in Rome.

The staff were lovely and very helpful, both rooms were clean and tidy. The walk to both the old and new churches takes just 5 minutes. The breakfast was basic however the staff were more than willing to make any additional requests we made.

The La Solaria restored our faith in Italian accomodation!

We were a group of 68 on a Pilgrimage to visit the San Pio Shrine so we were split up in the Solaria, San MAtteo & Rosamarina which seem to be owned by the same family. All 3 properties are next to each other and just 300mtrs from the Shrine which was a blessing as we could walk there every day! We were all satisfied overall with all 3 properties. Will recommend anytime.
