“Perfect Home for a stay in Puglia”
Reviewed 18 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

The home is well represented by the photos. The bedrooms and bathrooms of the main building are what you would expect at any four star hotel. Nice details in the rooms and beautiful tile work and fixtures in the bathrooms. My family actually opted to stay in the converted stables which has two small bedrooms along with one larger double. It also includes two full baths. Perfect for a family of four or five.

The outdoor spaces are amazing. Since we were visiting in the spring our preference was to sit in the sun for a lovely group breakfast. I want to return for a summer visit so we can enjoy dinner under the vine covered trellis. The kitchen was set up so well and we appreciated that our hosts Francesca and Pietro had it stocked with bottled water, etc.

The location is ideal. You are only a few kilometers from beautiful Ostuni which has so many dining options. We also enjoyed nearby Ciegle Messapica for dinner as well. Francesca and Pietro will be glad to give you dining suggestions and there is also an extensive list at the trullo.

The owner Dieter was very prompt in sending us a quote for our stay and followed up with us on questions regarding the rental. I have rented many times before in the U.S. as well as in Europe. This was the first time that I was asked to have the payment sent via wire transfer. After doing a little checking on my own I felt confident with Dieter and he did not disappoint. Everything was handled professionally and on time.

“Lovely Trullo near Ostuni”
Reviewed 3 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We recently stayed in this Trullo with a group of friends, including 2 teenagers, 2 couples and a single friend. There was more than enough space for all of us and the outdoor space especially was lovely. The beds were comfortable and the charming shared spaces inviting. As often as we have rented homes, apartments, etc, I have never seen one better stocked. From bottled water and food, spices, etc., even fully stocked local wine (for pay, but saves the trip to the store). Our only regret was that there was cool, and sometimes rainy weather during our visit. Would love to come back to enjoy the pool deck. The only issue we had was figuring out the hot water for showers, but evenutally that got worked out. Would highly recommend for a peaceful holiday in the lovely Puglian countryside.

“Loved it!”

We stayed at Sessana Grande last June. The house, gardens and pool are really beautiful. The site is very private and offers a lovely view over the olive groves. We took advantage of the local markets and cooked up a storm: the kitchen is well-equipped, the BBQ and pizza oven worked beautifully. We ate like kings under the arbour and watched the moon rise over the garden.
The pool is lovely, with a beautiful patio, plenty of chaises longues and shade if you want it.
The location puts you in easy distance of villages, the coast, beaches.
The caretakers were very helpful and friendly, kept the place spotless and gave good advice when asked.

Liked best: The wonderful arbour which became our outdoor dining room. And the pizza oven!
Liked least: We really liked, or rather loved, everything.

“If only I could live at Trullo Sessana Grande.....”

We just spent two fabulous weeks at Trullo Sessana Grande with my family of two children, our friends with two children (age range 8-4 years), and our nanny. Where to begin describing how fantastic the vacation was? We basically put the two married couples in the Trullo house as it has huge rooms with aircon, and then slept the kids in the "stable" with the nanny - it worked out perfectly (although one of the rooms in the stable is certainly big enough for a married couple to have - it also has its own bathroom, closet, and tons of space). Having "city children," my heart was warmed by how our kids were able to wander the grounds, picking figs, almonds, pears, etc., as well as making bouquets using the beautiful flowers growing all around the house. Some days we made easy trips into the neighboring villages to attend markets, see beautiful white-washed architecture and old churches, and other days we visited local beaches - some of which were exceptional (and information provided in the Trullo as well as by the caretakers kindly explains which ones were the best). However, on days when we just felt lazy, we were perfectly content and satisfied to eat under the arbor at the Trullo and have refreshing dips in the swimming pool. We also enjoyed grilling fresh local seafood outdoors and the kids loved the day when we made pizzas from scratch and cooked them in the outdoor pizza oven. Views from the house are of the lovely countryside as well as the town of Ceglie Messapica in the distance. Exceptional sunrises and sunsets. Lots of information in the Trullo, too, on local restaurants, bars, etc. We had so much fun that we are trying to figure out when to go back (and we do not usually do repeat vacations!).

Liked best: The countryside and sunsets, grilling seafood outdoors and eating it under the pergola
Liked least: Mosquitos! But the house provided tools for combatting them....
