Donalds and Emanuels backyard is the beacon that shines in the ourskirts of the busy city center of Naoussa. Away from the overcrowded catacombs of tourist shops and shouting restaurant owners. This is the french/mediterranean patch that let's you rest and enjoy all the five senses.

The groundwork is simple. Outside is surronded by trees with hanging light bulbs letting the white gravel sparkle like a stars on a night sky. Tonight it's not that busy. But even though the layout of the tables allows you to come in large company or in pair for a private table in the back.

The menu is small but enough. Donald greets us gently with an gazpacho appetizer which is quite plain in taste and perhaps would have been better if more reduced. Still it's fresh and the evening has just begun.

We have the three different cuts of fish along with some champagne which is generously given. The fresh tuna is soft as silk and the satisfaction is there. Everybody stops talking and a brief moment of silence is prominent.

Our next waiter is silent and nervous. Perhaps his first week on the job but he's being well taken care of by Donald who overlooks everything wanting the night to be as we expect.

The seared tuna steak has arrived and it's cooked to perfection. On a bed of creamy rissoni pasta topped with capers and vinigrette gives you a savory well executed dish. The only thing to ask for is something crunchy for variation of texture.

The white chardonnay recomended is enjoyable but the red wine locally produced is more interesting. It's well balanced and high on tannins almost like an organic wine from Sicily. No mineral taste but clean earthy and almost sparkling in texture.

We finish of the evening with chocolate mousse along with berries and mint. The mousse and the mint together is fresh yet sweet and bitter. It makes you happy to notice the love in every dish. On the way home there's a strong feeling of satisfaction.

We had our best meal of our two week trip to Greece at this restaurant (and it is probably the best meal we have had this year at any restaurant). First I am completely puzzled why this restaurant was half empty on a Saturday evening (but happy that it was as we were able to be seated right away). The food is out of the world delicious, service is excellent and atmosphere is lovely. In addition the price was very reasonable.

Our meal started off with an amuse bouche of spicy gazpacho plus a raw tuna appetizer-- yummy. We shared the refreshing watermelon salad among the five of us and it was perfect way to start our meals. I had the best lamb shank that I have ever had for dinner! It truly was outstanding (one of my sons had it as well and completely agrees). If you like lamb, be sure to order this. My youngest son had the rib roast with duck pate and loved it. My third son had a mixed seafood dish which he said was very good. My husband had the pork chop and said it was good but a little dry. We finished our meal with the chocolate mousse and a complimentary homemade limoncello.

This is a restaurant that should be rebooked for weeks in advance. I hope that this restaurant takes off as it truly is a gem. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation for dinner here.

We visited this restaurant based on the trip advisor reviews. We were looking for something that wasn't traditional Greek and a little more upscale and thought this would fit the bill. We had our hotel make a reservation for us. We were not disappointed! A beautiful garden setting with live music. The food was delicious and the hosts very gracious and helpful. We both agreed that this was the best meal and dining experience that we had during 2 weeks of Greek island holidays. The chef came out at the end of the night to chat with the tables about our experience and we had nothing but compliments to give him and their hard working staff! Truly a gem and a must visit. The blue wine was interesting to try and learn about.

The food at Emanuel's is a work of art that combines multiple cuisines and stimulates the five senses. The restaurant is set in a beautiful courtyard in the heart of Naoussa. Favorite dishes around the table were the rib eye with foie gras and the green apple soup. Best food we have had on our trip!!! Donald and Emanuel were terrific hosts.
