First of all, the environment, between airport and motorway might be convenient for travellers, but cannot be qualified as "quiet and calm" as on the web site.
Second, the hostess at check in was not very pleasant, especially when our Visa was rejected as a guaranty (this often happens with foreign cards and we could use it 12 hours after for check out).
The lobby is ok but not warm.
The rooms are of good size, but we expexted a shower rather than a slipping bathroom for our VIP bathroom.
The restaurant was ok with good food and pleasant service at a reasonable price. Breakfast for 18€ is far over priced, so we skipped.

Room Tip: Do not pay for the VIP supplement. It does not make a difference.

Dear guest.

Thank you for your recent stay with us and that you left us a feedback.

Unfortunately you keep your stay as disappointing in your memory what we actually really regret.
We just want to mention on behalf of your comments, that our breakfast charge is € 16,00.
Further we can also provide anti slippery mat for the shower as well, please let us know next time.
It can be happen, that during the main check in time the lobby is a bit colder as usual. That is debt by the main entrance door.

The entire staff apologize for any inconvenience you had. We handle your feedback with care, so please be sure that we will do anything to make your next stay more satisfying.

Till then we wish you all the best,

Your Team Mercure Hotel Düsseldorf Kaarst

Nice hotel with spacious and well equipped rooms (with coffee machine). Staff polite, professional and helpful. Good breakfast but expensive (16 Euro/day). Free wi-fi. My only concern is regarding the location, almost in the middle of nowhere; if you do not have a car available the only option is a taxi. Anyway I would go there again.

i'v just returened from Germany and had a 3 days stay this this hotel. about a month ago i was in the Mercure Hotel airport Duesseldorf and it was not so good, so i decided to try this one from the same chain of hotels - gave them a second chance :).
it was much better hottel, this hotel is located in a nice and central spot (you have almost every thing just aroud you - like gas station, few supermarkets even ikea store :) and if you have car you can get easilly to near cities such as dusseldorf, koln, essen etc - no heavy trafic.
The hotel is cheap (i paid around 200 euro for 3 days) the parking cost only 8 euro per day (and there was discount for mecure members - so it cost only 4 euro per day - very cheap) - also if you dont want to pay for parking at all - you can just park your car outside the parking of the hotell - there is lots of parking place there - but you will have to walk about 150 meter in the cold to get from the hotel to the car :)
the room was good - had everything you need for short stays, but 3 small problems: a. you will not find small refrigerator b. no safe c. no device for hot waters (to make nescaffe or tea) - but instead they have a coffee machine -but not so good machine.
the wifi internet (free) was better then it was the last mercure hottel i visit (the airport one) - at least you don't need to get a new pw every day :) but it was slow and sometimes stuck - i really cant understand this problem in 2016 - it should work very fast.
the room was very clean and tide, the bathroom is very nice and i can say that it gives a very good value for your money.
so i recomend it and i believe i will comback there again.

Quality of the rooms and the service at the bar very good. Hotel pleasant to stay at. Great breakfast choice. Downsides are small individual bed covers and paying car park (only since recently!). Staff force you to get a parking ticket at reception each time.

This is a perfect luxury hotel with nice rooms and good food. One of the better hotels I stayed in in the Dusseldorf area.

THE ROOMS
I have had multiple rooms in this hotel and all were pretty nice and spacious. The atmosphere is nice and cosy and there are enough amenities to make you feel comfortable, like a television, a coffee/tea machine, a desk and some comfy chairs. The beds are comfortable and the curtains perfectly block the light. Although it differs per room, the amount of noises that you hear from other guest ranges from somewhat to almost none.

THE LOCATION AND HOTEL
Although definitely not the case, the hotel feels remote and that is only enforced when you drive on the desolated streets towards the entrance (especially in the dark).
The moment you step in to the hotel, that feeling is gone, the entrance is lively and cosy. However when you enter the first or second floor it again feels desolated. The open spaces and the corridor could use some functional decoration to make the place more intimate.

THE STAFF
The staff is polite and correct and they will help you to the best of their ability. However when you are a regular guest and you come there every week for a longer period of time they don’t recognise you as such. Over and over again they told me what the procedures were: how I could get access to WiFi, where and when breakfast was served, etc. It shouldn’t be too hard to see f the system that someone has visited the hotel before and act on it.

THE FOOD
For diner you can choose between a la carte and buffet. The buffet changes every day and offers a wide range of fresh choices; I was never disappointed. Also the breakfast is great with a lot of fresh products and lots of choices, perfect start of the day.

PROS
- Excellent rooms, with nice beds
- Quiet and peaceful floors where rooms are located
- Excellent food

CONS
- Parking costs 6 Euro per day and the ticket machine only accepts coins (so you have to go to the front desk).
- WiFi is extremely slow
