“Pristine, peaceful and a great escapade.”

I visited Ganpatipule in December 2011.This could possibly the best time to visit any place. MTDC has a large space at prime location, bank on the beach, having large space with a variety of rooms AC, non AC , konkani huts, sea view delux cottages.
The rooms were well maintained, not overpriced and you can enjoy beach every moment you are in there. As the rooms offer an excellent view of the sea from the resort rooms itsself. You can hear the sound of waves while you sleep.

It could have been better if MTDC could have added big swings( 3 seater), swings attached between two trees or other children playground could have been added.

The worst part was I could not find good vegetarian food any where in the city.
Tarang offers overpriced and uncooked, tastless food.
The only place was Durvankur where somewhat ok food was available.
Do visit Prachin Konkan Museum, its a must see.

The beach is extremely clean and waters are unpolluted.
Overall the entire visit refreshes you, an excellent escapade from the busy city life.

Room Tip: If it is Nov to Feb NON AC delux cottages, if a couple trip Sea View Delux cottages and during summe...

We travelled to ganpatiphule during 1st week of october in our car from Mumbai.. The drive was good for most part of the journey... NH17 was bad for 20% of the journey .. Rest 80% was good .. We took 7-8hr drive time with an half hour drive....

Now coming to the resort... Its a govt run resort so dont expect much .. The rooms have great view... The rooms are okay.. spacious...hygeine levels are not that great .. if you are finicky about this then its better to carry your own sheets ...bathrooms and clean and plain... So just keep that in mind and keep your expectation right ...

We went to this place in last year May. It was a sort of unplanned trip without any prior booking. We just drove into the resort. Fortunately we got a sea facing cottage. The view was stunning. The rooms were clean. The linen quality was also good. The location of the resort is superb. There is ample place for parking at free of cost. The front desk staff were very co-operating and helped us to have a smooth check in although we didn't have a prior booking.

The food was also good. The room service is only limited to tea and coffee.

The beach was very clean and owing to less tourists, the beach is not polluted.

It would be great if this resort offers facilities like beach volleyball and hammocks.

If I am visiting Ganapatipule again, I will come here to stay for sure.

The MTDC At Ganpatiphule is a Maharashtra tourism hotel, located very conveniently near Ganpatiphule beach. We had stayed in a Sea View Deluxe Room A/C for 3 nights which cost us around 6300INR.the rooms were nice spacious enough to accommodate a family of three comfortably, the beds were OK so were the linens not of a very good quality.if you require more that one pillow while sleeping..then tough luck coz the hotel staff will flat out deny any additional linens, this includes bed sheets and more so towels.
the rooms are not very clean chances are you may find them to smell stuffy or even see a few bugs or rodents in and around your rooms.the sea view room has a space like a small patio in front with chairs where you can relax and see the sunrise and sunsets. or the countless boats that pass by all day long.
the rooms have direct access to the beach located a stones throw away.the main reason to visit Ganpatiphule is because of The temple of Swayambhu (self-originated) Ganesh it is one of the stops if you are planning to do a Ashtavinayak (Eight Ganpatis) tour. The temple is very beautiful so is the beach along side it.the beach is clean and the water is clear as compared to other beaches in Maharashtra but be warned that the beach is NOT safe for swimming because of strong currents.at the temple is an interesting walk of 1km around the hill, which is called Pradakshina.11 of such are said to bring you good luck.
also at the entry of the temple is a gold mouse,Ganpatis vehicle! it is said if you speak you wishes into its ear they tend to come true!..so do give that a try

If you have time on hand you can choose to see other sights around Ganpatiphule like the Jaigad Fort and Lighthouse or the Thibaw Palace as well.

all in all its a place you can laze around on golden sands or explore the many trails that lead from the beach at the same time discover history of the region and even connect with your spiritual side!

We had booked the Sea view A/C Super deluxe room. The reception staff was not warm at all. They appeared very slow in service , unwelcoming and rude. The lady who showed us the room was great. The first impression of the room would disappoint you. The furniture was not dusted. All the fittings were rusted and did not look appealing. Overall the room needs makeover. Curtains looked so disgusting. laundry was clean. Bedding too was clean. But u dont feel like touching lots of things in the room. Sea view was great.
View from the room is great. Nice veranda sitting to enjoy the beach. Beach looked like our private property. very clean . greenery in the resrt was relaxing. Great gardens.Restaurant was slightly expensive. Rs 10 icecream was charged at Rs 25. No konkani food or thali on the menu.
But yes , i will visit this place again due to the easy access to the beach, safe place and decent crowd.
