Three of us stayed here just last week for 5 days. Communication prior to the trip was excellent with the owner and while we were there the property manager was available whenever we needed via phone and text.
Overall the house was great. Directions were excellent and we had no issues finding the place. It is located right on the beach and you couldn't get any closer. There is a combo padlock on the gate from the street so I had no issues parking the car right next to the house within the locked gate. You could fit 4 cars if you needed to. We saw/met some of the neighbors and everyone was very friendly and let us do our thing. There is a bodega less than a block away (basics, beer) and there is an Amigo (full size grocery store) less than a 10 minute drive away towards Luquillo. We walked to the bodega barefoot and shirtless multiple times with no problems. To get to the beach you had to walk down some rocks which could be tricky for some. Erosion issues limit the possible solutions to this problem so its something you just deal with.
Grounds were nice and everything within the house was clean when we arrived. Towels, toilet paper, bar soap were provided and the kitchen was fully stocked with glasses, plates, silverware, and even coffee. There was no toaster oven or regular oven however (not the end of the world though). There is no reason to use paper anything as everything is already there. Only stuff we bought (we didn't check any bags for this trip) was some bath soap, sun screen, and bug spray. We like to make our own breakfasts and lunches while we are in PR, so we stopped by the Amigo on the way there and got a few things. The house has a full size fridge and there was even a bag of ice already in the fridge for us. There is also a charcoal grill under the covered area as well.
The house technically has 2 bedrooms. 1 master facing the ocean and another room with 4 bunk beds. My wife and I had no issues with the master. Both rooms have AC units that we only ran during the night as you don't need it during the day and its very wasteful. We ate outside at the full size table with 6 chairs each morning. In the living room there is a futon couch so you could use that as a 3rd bedroom if needed. There is no TV or internet, but you are at the beach and shouldn't be watching tv or be on your phone anyways. 2 Board games were provided but if you know your family/group has specific likes then just bring them. I brought a small Bluetooth speaker which we used the whole time. There are outlets throughout the house as well as outdoors.
There was a full bathroom indoors and the outside half bathroom was extremely clean and used just as much as the indoor one. Bugs weren't an issue for us, but it depends on when you go and if you tend to get bitten frequently no matter where you go. The water pressure was good but the water didn't get super hot. The 85 degree weather everyday however made up for that so it didn't bother us.
Beach chairs, a 2 person kayak (only one oar that we could find however) life jackets, boogie boards, noodles, and beach bag chairs (OK for outdoor use and used the most by us). There were two hammocks as well which were used daily.
We walked to the Kiosks for dinner via the beach (La Parilla, El Jefe, Pizza Place (forgot the name) were all great.) Bring a flashlight and you will be fine. We hiked the rainforest which is close, did a snorkel trip to Culebra, as well as walked the beach about 4 miles to Boardriders in Luquillo and had lunch. We ran on the beach each morning without any issues.
Overall the house was great and we will most likely rent again if we stay in the Luquillo area (this was our 4th time to Luqillo and 5th time to PR). After previously staying at a nearby resort, we realized we aren't resort people as we don't utilize their amenities (pool, spas, golf, restaurants) as we want a local beach experience. This is a medium sized house on the beach, so if you are renting it, it is what you should expect. It met our needs and we are a laid back group that likes to hike the rainforest, walk on the beach, and drink beer. I would recommend this house to anyone who likes to do the same and wants the freedom to do everything or nothing.
