Lashings Villas are uniquely designed, mixing the urban with the colonial, set in the unspoilt area of Treasure Beach, St ELIZABETH. The fantastic staff cannot do enough to help, and we thoroughly enjoyed the luxury of a personal chef, an exceptional maid service, and driver to take us out and about. Our hosts David and Lisa were amazing too.
We’re real foodies and we were treated to the delights and variety of Jamaican food (other food available too) prepared by our personal chef whenever we wanted.
We are already planning our next holiday and thoroughly recommend others to give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.
One of the best holidays we've had! Perfect location overlooking the beautiful Treasure Beach (and the local cricket ground), but set in the hills where there's a welcome cool breeze and it's super quiet. The staff at the villa are fabulous, they will cook you anything you desire and are happy to drive you to visit local beaches, bars and restaurants. Lots of interesting places to see nearby or just spend the day by the pool relaxing in the ridiculously comfortable hammocks. We even fell in love with the villas' guard dogs, who are super friendly to guests (dog lovers - take treats or toys if you plan to visit, we couldn't find any in the local supermarkets!) Hoping to go back again very soon.
We were picked up from the airport and driven to Lashings Villas in comfort, this took around forty minutes through the hills from Montego Bay. Lashings Villas overlooks Calabash Bay a beautiful small fishing town with plenty of choice places to eat and white sand beaches.
The spacious rooms, all on the first floor, minimalist in style, have no glass, but instead beautifully crafted local doors onto the balcony, which has comfortable seating areas and loungers. This extensive space overlooks the infinity pool, merging with the blue waters of the Caribbean… A morning dip in the pool, a hearty breakfast English or fresh fruits and plenty. The bay is just a five minute walk past the sports ground. There was someone there to drive us if we preferred.
There are plenty of local bars and restaurants along the bay…with pleny of night clubs and music venues…all of which have the typical Jamaican charm. The only beer to drink is Red Stripe…and to drink any other might be termed sacrilege! Rum from the Appleton Estate is a must when at Jack Spratts….a fabulous venue with an earthy feel for fun…serving great burgers or Jerk Chicken and Red Snapper straight from the grill. Usually accompanied by live music where everyone gets on the dance floor…a must for anyone visiting Treasure Beach. Jakes is a great place to lunch outdoors under the trees...serving freshly caught fish, lobster and crab as well as great steaks…..Loads of places to visit and we had a driver on hand all the time. Jumping down the waterfall in the hills is a must! We had a brilliant two weeks and were sad to leave. We'll definitely go back. Highly recommended.
