“Excellent B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2012

Four of us (two couples) stayed here over the Easter weekend. We were a bit apprehensive as the most recent review was dated 2010, however we need not have worried. It is an excellent b&b, we had a warm welcome from Jock and Margaret, shown to our rooms which were a good size and the ensuites were also a good size (the shower was excellent). We were catching the 7.30 ferry the next morning so Margaret kindly left us a breakfast tray just outside our rooms as it was too early for the magnificent cooked breakfast we had on the day of our departure. The photos on this site do not do the b&b justice, it is spotless and very welcoming, Jock and Margaret are fantastic hosts.

Room Tip: Room 1 is a good room with a large ensuite.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2010

We booked this last minute after a change of plan and despite a impersonal telephone manner, on arrival we received a warm welcome. The room was really warm and spacious, a fabulous powerful hot shower in a large ensuite and it had tea making facilities (all these are important after a long wet cycle). Lovely cooked fresh breakfast with options. Definately recommended and would book there again enroute to our next trip to the hebrides. The cornerstone restaurant in Mallaig is well worth a visit too!

We had a warm welcome and the room was comfortable and clean. Our hosts were happy to advise us on where to eat and their suggestion was great! It was just a two min walk into the village centre and then on to the harbourside. After dining we watched a huge seal play in the harbour and watched a fishing boat unload huge langoustines (just like the ones in the restaurant!)
Breakfast was cooked infront of us and was lovely. Being so close to the ferry terminal meant we could checkin at the terminal nice and early and then go for a wander and watch the boats come and go. As well as going to Skye there were boats to Knoydart and some of the small islands. We would certainly go back again.

Good size bed, large bathroom. Shower had the best pressure of any used in the UK from past two holidays. Friendly couple, don't bother staying if you smell of smoke, strictly non-smoking, which is good, because sick of everyone lighting up everywhere we go.
