While touring the Dumfriesshire region, quite by accident, my wife and I stumbled upon Cibo Citta, which I believe translated to something like "Food city".
What a wonderful little restaurant - so good we even returned the next evening for another meal!
Neither of us are massive eaters and I was a little apprehensive on ordering pizza, but I was assured by the extremely pleasant and friendly staff that it wouldn't be too much.
They weren't wrong either - the base was very thin and crispy - it's a long time since I had a pizza as nice at this - not a bit soggy like many of the offerings we all too often find in restaurants these days. There was just the right amount of topping too.
After finding we weren't too full, we decided to share an ice cream between us and that too was very nice.
I would suggest booking as they place does seem to be very popular with almost all the tables being occupied on both occasions we visited.
Next time we're in the area, we will certainly be making plans to visit again.
