“Stunning, tasteful, comfortable and remarkable attention to detail.”
Reviewed 20 November 2011 for a stay in October 2011

As a couple who travel around the country a lot and have stayed in hundreds of properties we can honestly say this is the best place we've ever stayed. It just ticks every box you can imagine.

It's beautifully located with views over a little paddock containing horses (an exceptional sight while you're cooking a meal in the kitchen.) There's a popular pub just 5 minutes away too.

We were welcomed into the cottage with bread, milk, wine, freshly ground coffee, newspapers and magazines. Even two delicious cream cakes in the fridge. And it's this care and attention to detail that makes Manor Farm Cottage such a special place. The cottage itself is lovely. The kitchen especially. Sometimes we'd spend the whole evening there listening to music and having a drink or nine. But the bedrooms are lovely too. Gorgeous beds with good quality bedding and tasteful furniture make the rooms lovely places to be.

Every bit of crockery and cutlery you could possibly want is provided even cool boxes and picnic equipment can be found. So often with self-catering you can feel like you've been given the owners hand me downs but at Manor Farm everything is high quality.

We felt more welcome than anywhere we've ever been and had the most comfortable, relaxing stay (even though we were supposed to be working.) We hope to return soon as we've told our boss we want to stay there whenever we're anywhere close to the Huddersfield area. Out of the many places we've stayed down the years this is the only one we've felt compelled to write a review about. It's really THAT good. The pics don't nearly do it justice. We would highly recommended it to anyone.

“The perfect cottage escape”
Reviewed 4 August 2011 for a stay in July 2011

Manor Farm Cottage was the perfect tonic at the end of our 3 week family holiday in the UK.
Catherine was extremely welcoming with some lovely touches on arrival including freshly laid eggs, freshly picked strawberries (both from the farm) and a welcome basket that went above and beyond expectations.
The cottage itself is a real gem – situated at the end of a long drive and backing onto the farm, it’s private without being isolated. We all loved the setting with horses and geese running around in the adjacent field and the weather was better than expected so we made good use of the garden and BBQ.
The website photos don’t do it justice. We thought it may be abit chintzy and was going to be smaller than it is so were very pleasantly surprised to find what is a really tastefully decorated, well proportioned, cottage. The bathroom is new and well designed, the kitchen is sizeable and very well kitted out with everything you could possibly need, the lounge is cosy without being small and the two bedrooms are a good size, especially the family room which was way bigger than our two young children needed.
For a young family wanting to get away from it all it was absolutely perfect (our children are 1 and 3 yrs old). I could also imagine 2 couples or 4 friends enjoying their stay.
To give an idea of dimensions, we had some extended family visiting for an afternoon and the cottage coped surprisingly well with this larger group of 9 adults and 4 young children. It was the only rainy day so we ate around the kitchen table which didn’t feel too squashed.
We will be back at some point in the future as will other members of our family who were equally impressed. No reservations in recommending it to others.
If you do visit here I can thoroughly recommend a trip to the farm shop at nearby Cannon Hall Farm. Amazing local produce to take back and cook at ‘home’.
