We've been two times here and for sure we will come back. Aya Nikola is a small hotel something about 2km away from the city center on Buyukada. It has a small private beach which is just in front of door of your room. (Yeah that close!). Rooms are clean, furnished with beautiful antiques and really extraordinary. (We just loved it!). But the best thing ever in this peaceful and relaxing place are their breakfasts. You can find on the table everything you want, from few different kinds of cheese to grilled red pepper and eggplant. It's the best place for romantic weekend or when you just want to have lovely holiday near the sea, but at the same time close to Istanbul. (You can see the city from the beach, it looks really beautiful at night) :)

We decided to stay at Aya Nikola otel for our pre-honeymoon for 3 nights. I am not a huge fan of writing review but this time I will do it to help others who are considering Aya Nikola Hotel. Let me know write Pros and Cons:

Cons:
-Be aware that this place is just next to Aya Nikola beach - fully crowded place with loud music during the day time (forget about enjoying the nature)
-At night, there is one night club on the other island opposite and one 50 meters away from the hotel. For two nights, we listened to music until 04:00!!! (and hotel said that we need to call to complaint)
-Service quality is bad, you need to remind the staff a few times what you ordered, missing toilet papers even after cleaning, electricity and water cuts...
-No phones connected to reception (take the stairs every time you want to order something)
-I explicitly asked them to prepare a honeymoon room with flowers etc. They started doing it ones we are there (seriously? Is it when you should start?)
-Expensive for such a service quality (5TL for a bottle of water, seriously?)
-No Wi-Fi in the rooms
-Hotel owner has no experience with hotel management and customer care. She said it was not a 5 star hotel and they cannot have 100% customer satisfaction (then why do you charge me for 5 star hotel price?)
-Hotel is far away from the center. You need to pay around 10$ one direction every time you want to go to city center. (20$ for two directions)

Pros:
-Good and organic breakfast
-Nice garden
-Friendly staff but again they are not professional

Room Tip: Avoid if you are a couple

Stayed at this place last week where payed a rather high price for a room that wasn't even clean and had no heating. After paying extra for a room that had a fireplace we were generously told that we wouldn't be charged for the wood! What made the stay truly unpleasant however was the 30 euros we were charged for 2 plates of pastry which the rude hotel concierge agreed to serve us after considerable huff and puff! Never stay here! What may have been once a pleasant getaway has now turned into a hellhole with thieving owners and unpleasant hotel staff!

It is ok that the island is beautiful, it is ok that the location of the hotel and its tranquility is excellent, it is a perfect experience to sleep infront of a perfect sea sight but nobody can explain the dirt and the dead insect bodies on the front window and various points of the room.
I even can not touch the furnitures because of their dust.
The bathroom does not have a bath tube and you can not enter after a shower because everywhere covered with water.
About breakfast, be ready to share your fresh and beautiful breakfast with houseflies and other little guests :)

Lovely rooms only 30m from the water, beautiful sunrise over the islands and Istanbul skyline... Wonderful breakfast in the breakfast room or outside depending on the weather... Lovely fireplace for colder nights...
