“A bit too marketing”
Reviewed 5 April 2012

It's a nice hotel in a very beautiful place, a bit expensive like everything in Switzerland. If you have a car and you do not want to stay in Luzern it could worth going outside this artistic city.
Rooms are beautifully renovated, but do not take the cheapest one because it's very small and you could touch the ceiling if you are too small. The owners propose you aperitif in one of the rooms of the hotel and when you pass directly to the dining part of your evening. Unfortunately, the central dining room which is small, but nice was overheated and we could not enjoy the meal by 27-29C. Strangely, nobody opened the window and when we told to one of the waiters that we were dying in this temperature, the reply was - it's always this way.
A few words about the dinner which is cooked be the owner. It's presented like a set menu and you think that it's a unique price whenever you eat everything listed or not, but every dish has its' price which you will discover in the final bill. So there is no printed menu for dinner, but you have to know that you can eat much less than listed during the presentation and you can choose your dishes. Frankly saying discovering the prices while checking out is not a good marketing tool.
To sum up: nice landscape, good effort in interior design, too american marketing approach lacking natural uninterested impulse, meaning you see your clients only once and you are interested in their wallet, but you run a risk never seeing them back.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the upper floor, they have a nice view and a better set up.

We thank you very much for your open and honest comment. Our room prices depend not only on room equipment, but also on the various room sizes. We will check if our room description is clearly understandable presented in our website.
Not having a written menu is part of our all-over concept. Prices of all dishes and courses are placed at the guests tables in the restaurant and are also listed on our website.

We stayed here for a party on the 25th Feb 2012. This is simply the best boutique hotel I have had the pleasure to stay in. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere special to stay.
We had the top room (14, I believe), that is built into the roof space and must be 60-70 sqm in size. The size and fittings were impeccable.
The evening dinner was also fantastic with Dani taking such care to ensure all aspects of our meal were catered for. Add to this the wonderful wine served by Gabriela and you won't have any complaints if you can get a room here.
Will I come again..... You can bet your last dollar.... :-)

I have just returned from a visit to this fabulous hotel in Beckenried Switzerland. I was there to celebrate my brother's 50th (sorry Stephen!) birthday and we had the most wonderful party with uniquely delicious gourmet food (Thank you Danni).
Danni and Gabi could not have extended a warmer welcome and in the early hours they even provided an extra bed when my son decided he wanted to stay the night, all with great kindness and good humour. All the staff were warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms are large very comfortable and all furnished in a very uniquely beautiful way. We even had coffee and tea in our room. This place is stunning; the food is incredible, the welcome warm.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a lake view.

We stayed in one of the category 3 rooms on the top floor for two nights (not nearly long enough!) in January. Certainly the "wow" factor. The room was beautiful, very comfortable bed, very spacious room, with unique features : beams, a day-bed, a desk (not that one would be working!) and a huge bathroom with a lovely shower and a soaking tub. The drinking water is despatched from an old-fashioned beer-pull which is a lovely touch, and the honesty bar downstairs has everything one would need, from snacks to drinks. The breakfast was superb. This is truly a "boutique" hotel, charming location - and all the rooms I saw were wonderful, and individually styled. Nothing at all "generic" about this place. I will certainly be returning and this time staying longer.
Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: We had one of the rooms at the top of the house - great views, amazing room!

Charming place, decorated with love and style. The rooms are big, very warm, clean. The bed are large . A breakfast was good- cheese, salmon, cold cuts, dry fruits, cereal, croissants, eggs, excellent coffee. Thank you for everyone who made our stay pleasant-specially Silvia, Gabi and Nicole. Great skiing! Ski lift cost 36 CHF per a day. From the hotel to cable car you need a car .The ski area wasn't busy, no line in restaurant (3 of them and bistro ),no line for the lift,if you go ski look for piste #1 and #2(Chalen) 4 chair lift will take you there. If you rent a car in Zurich airport, it will take you only 1h15 to get in Beckienried,we also visited cheese and glass factory- great trip for a day.
