An interesting hotel in old converted farm buildings, convenient to local restaurants and shops. We had a spacious room with its own roof terrace for our two night stay, as part of a walking holiday. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast comprised a good choice of foods, and set us up well for our hikes in the hills. A spell in the underground warm pool was welcome after a day's exercise.

Beautiful, clean ,and friendly place, with a rustic charm and peaceful atmosphere.I had a warm relaxed welcome in this 17th century gem set in the hilly town of san miguel de abona. The room was fit for a prince (or princess),breakfast area and breakfast itself was laid out beautifully in the buffet style, which I find less informal with a good selection to choose from. There is an 'honesty' bar where you can help yourself to tea, coffee or alcoholic drinks with the condition you write down what you have consumed along with your name and date you used the bar.In summary I would highly recommend a stay here if you would like a relaxed authentic taste of this region of southern Tenerife.

Had 3 nights at the Rural in late Jan 16.

My room (1) was the single so it was a little smaller and less grand than what I could see from several others.

No matter, the room/bathroom was of adequate size. It might be warm in the summer but it was on the cool side (no heating) in late January when the temperature in the evening fell to low double figures.

Was disappointed to find that the Hot Tub wasn't hot (it was just cold water). I was told it was Finnish style so you get boiling hot in the Sauna next door, then dip in the freezing cold Hot Tub. I passed on that.

The underground thermal bath wasn't working either. A major disappointment as I was looking forward to trying that the most.

Breakfast was quite nice. Helps if you like bread though! Toast. Home made Bread (very nice) and fresh croissants were in supply, together with the usual continental breakfast options.

If the Hot Tub was hot and the Thermal Bath worked. I would definitely stay again. Otherwise, i'd probably choose somewhere else next time.

Overall enjoyed my two night stay as a single guy on a walking holiday, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast so so, was given scrambled eggs with tomatoes without being asked if I wanted them and scrambled egg and bacon the next day again no choice....seemed a bit strange but breakfast staff spoke zero English and there is nobody on reception in the mornings so just let it go. Only other issue was my bed, the mattress must have been the same age as the hotel, was not comfortable at all. Never tried the sauna or Jaccuzi but roof terrace is lovely, wifi is ok, slow but does the trick, some nice eating places nearby and an English run friendly bar(cheap) on the main road. Bar in hotel empty with honesty box so very quiet, may suit most people, all in all pleasant but quirky.

Loved this hotel. Beautiful rooms full of beautiful antique furniture. Really quiet and rustic experience. Enjoyed the sauna though found the pool a little cold and were disappointed to find the hot tub not working either. However, I would still highly recommend this hotel for travellers looking for something a little different and full of character in Tenerife. Located in a quiet village close to the airport with a selection of excellent restaurants nearby.
