4th time in terrazamar section on the ground floor with jacuzzi on the balcony, brilliant as always and the air con was the best keeping us cool , best location in Puerto Rico and don’t think you will get a bigger balcony anywhere else , All staff great and very reasonable pool bar prices, Personally I would extend the happy hour times .

Stayed here for 4 nights, 22.10.24 - 26.10.24. I've stayed at these apartments a couple of times before about 10 years ago, both in Sun Suites and the Terrazamar section. This time, I booked a room in Terrezamar, which is the lower section and was allocated room 207.
Rooms remain a good size and whilst the kitchen cupboards and bathroom unit are the original units the furniture, beds, dinning table are all new and modern, with AC and digital safe provided at no extra cost. All balconies are a great size with modern patio furniture including two full size sunloungers, which is good as you get the sun all day at these apartments due to location, so if you fancy a quiet day you can still chill in your own apartment and not miss a minute of sunshine.
Housekeeping is provided every other day and the lady who looked after our room was great, she was very friendly and when we came back to our room to find it flooded as the boiler had burst she wasted no time in sorting everything out and got maintenance straight to the room who replaced the boiler. We would see her most mornings as she started work on level 2 and she would ask us if everything was still OK, so we'd tell her "no piscina today" which got a thumbs up reply. I didn't get her name, but she is definitely an asset to the hotel.
The pool bar is fine, with reasonable prices for food and drink.
Our return flight was a late one, so we managed to keep our room on for €30.
The hotel is in a good location with the commercial centre with all the bars and restaurants, literally a stones throw away, which could be seen and heard from our apartment. Noise didn't bother us as we were out late most nights anyway, but if you closed your patio door, you could not hear anything, and if you're staying on a higher level, it's unlikely you'll hear anything.
As mentioned I've stayed here before and probably wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Puerto Rico again.

We had never been to the Canaries before and were desperate for some sun for our wedding anniversary.
Puerto Richo feels like its 2 resorts one end caters for the masses and the newer end of town is more refined and relaxed. We found the sun suites Royal a very clean hotel indeed, the balcony suites were spacious with huge private balconies.
The air con was very necessary and welcome, the room felt quiet and well maintained by the cleaning ladies.
The breakfast was ok, nothing mind-blowing and the poolside bar/restaurant was good. One thing you do notice is the amount of lifts or stairs that you have to take to get from the town level up to your room.
Beach looked ok but a better one is 1km along the coastal footpath.
Overall we liked the hotel very much.

Stayed here a few times now and it’s still lovely. Staff are nice and helpful. Rooms are lovely and the balcony is a great size. You can roll out of bed and stay there all day if you like. There is a little TLC needed. Bathroom and kitchens are a bit dated and need ‘refreshing’ with fresh paint and tile care. But otherwise it’s lovely and will definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at the sun suite several times in the past but for a change wanted to try the Royal levels, For anyone that hasn't been to this hotel before the main selling point is the huge balconies which you could have a 5 a side football game on, The rooms are nothing special & too be honest with everyone hyping this hotel up on social media its starting to get a little to expensive for what it supplies, In the past we have booked in June & it cost us just over £600, In September about £850, Earlier this year we looked at booking for November & they wanted just shy of £4,000 yip that's not a typo almost £4k for a 3 star room with rubbish aircon & you still have flights & spending money so a cheap holiday its not at about £7k, We are going to Dom Rep for 2 weeks next year all inclusive in a 5 star hotel for less than £4k, Anyway back to the review, The royal levels are right at the top of this hotel complex with the Sun suites being across the road & down 3 flights in a lift, A walk along to another lift to go another 8 flights down & a walk along to get to the reception then if you are going into the centre its across a road into another lift & down 6 flights to get to the gate to take you out to the street, We are not put off with the walk as it gets our steps up & we would have been happy with this if it wasn't for the fact the Royal suites are nothing special, When we arrived the aircon was blowing warm air, I tried to call reception using the phone in the room but it wasn't working so i went down & reported it to the lady on reception 11 levels down as there is no reception in the Royal levels & she said she would get it fixed that night, We went out to meet another couple who we were on holiday with who were staying in the Terrazamar on level 5 & their aircon was the same as ours in fact we spoke to several other family's who said the same about their aircon, Nothing was done about our aircon that night so the next day again down 11 levels to the reception to be told by the same lady that she would get it fixed, When we went back to the room after a hard days sunbathing the aircon had been switched down from 18c to 16c ( we couldn't do this as we didn't get a remote & we were told they didn't have one for that room but we did have a remote for the tv that didn't work ? ) anyway the aircon was still blowing out warm air, I bought a wall thermometer & put it in the room & it was showing 28c & it wasn't lying it was roasting in the room, Another trip down 11 levels to the reception to inform a gentleman who was on the desk that we had tried our best to bare with them but we would need a room change, He told us that it wouldn't be possible that day but to come back the next day & he would sort it for us, We went back to our room & 10 minutes later a handyman turned up to look at the aircon, He opened the front of the unit tapped it with a screwdriver a couple of times & left with a one word sentence LISTEN ? not sure what we were supposed to listen for & we didn't hear any difference with the aircon or feel colder air so we gave up got ready & went out, We came back in later that night to find a portable aircon unit running in our room with the exhaust hose still in the room so the cold air was being negated by the warm air from the hose, We had to leave the exhaust pipe hanging out the room window which we didn't really feel to safe with & the unit was so noisy it kept waking me up so not a really peaceful holiday, When we spoke to reception again next day we were told that they had sorted the aircon as best as they could & they wouldn't move us & to top it off they closed the pool on the Royal level so we had to go down to the sun suite if we wanted a swim.
As this is the first time we have had a real problem we are happy to give this place another try but we will never go up to the Royal levels in fact we have booked up for next year but insisted we were not paying the additional couple of hundred pounds for the privilege of walking further up a hill to have the same rooms with worst aircon & if they cannot supply us with rooms near level 6 on the sun suite levels to cancel our booking as we would not accept a free upgrade to the Royal level like to poor souls who came into the room next too us & were fuming that they had been forced to take a free upgrade from the sun suite to the Royal levels that they didn't want but were basically told "tough take it or find another hotel"
