If you wanted to just chill out you could easily stay and not leave the apartment, lying on the sun loungers, looking out to sea, listening to the waves and the birds singing bliss. There is an onsite restaurant, shop and bar with entertainment every night for both adults and kids, 2 euro 80 for beer. The only big deal is the lift, its not even a lift its more like a funicular type rail carriage and there is only one, which staff and visitors use, I dont particularly like lifts, but its a steep climb going up, and even when you get to top there is still lots of stairs to navigate to get to your apartment, but this is what probably delivers the great views. The first night we went down to the left 10 minute walk to the marina is lots of nice restaurants but it gets a bit exhausting trying to look at a menu and being constantly harassed to come in, ive never experienced this before in spain, your trying to sneak a look at the menus, trying to not make eye contact with the eager touts, they would probably get more people going in if they just left you alone to browse. There was nice food in waikiki delicious chicken dishes, el molino prawn and chicken kebab, great all day breakfast and tea and scones at Harbour Lights, Beer harbour great ribs and burgers, Pizzicato for great authentic italian, I would really recommend the boat trip to Mogan its gorgeous there with lots of lovely restaurants and shops, and a great little beach. I thought get off the boat and there will be nothing to do but its so quaint I wish i had left earlier to spend more time there. To the right of the hotel is Amadores Beach about the same 10 minute walk as to the marina there is loads of bars and cafes there, local beers 1 euro 50 right on beach, and great fresh banana milk shakes (a lot of places are from cartons and dont do banana) We had tried to reserve the room for longer which you can only do the day before, but unfortunately the place is so popular it wasnt possible so be prepared to spend your last day in the heat. I would definitely return to this apartment but would maybe hire a car next time to explore the rest of the island, as the roads there are great and signs so straightforward. Its 50-60 euros by taxi from and to airport, and there are some really good shops at airport with plenty of eating places with good deals and if your kids only eat fast food theres a burger king.More
