Can only echo previous reviews - the view is stunning (not up early enough to confirm sunrise!!), the place immaculate and the welcome friendly and relaxed.

You do need a head for heights and some confidence in piloting your hire car - if you are planning to arrive late in the day then get Nymphes to arrange an airport collection and get your car in the morning - road is fine (if a little bumpy and steeep!!) in daylight. Also the local road has a lovely new surface and even guard rails - spoilsports......

Fruit from gardens lovely and the little resort of Agia Pelagia (10 mins by car and 1000 feet lower) has a good choice of eating (Kri-Kri fun and Bazaar cheaper and excellent) and bars, but nightlife is a little limited though fine for us. Nice little beach and felt very safe with sufficient shopping and easy parking - may be more difficult high season.

Studio rooms are all individual with decent (std UK size) fridge and sufficient cooking stuff - does anyone actually eat in apart from breakfast?? - with cosy bathroom. Worked fine and very clean but a few more inches or a solid shower wall (rather than curtain) would make it feel better. Good toiletries and loo paper that could be flushed - lot of Creten loos do not take loo paper....!! Aircon excellent, bed comfy - suitcase storage a bit tricky - we used the balcony as it never rained.

Balconies are huge and have soft chairs and table - breakfast and evening wine location par excellence.

Need to like kittens - though if you ignore them they will soon find someone to feed, cuddle and like them. All are very friendly and cute....

Pool is stunningly set but water chilly and can be a bit breezy - though air temperature had dropped a little when we were there

Great peaceful spot, rest of Crete pretty good too, though can invove a fair bit of driving to see the most spectacular bits.

Stayed in this place early September for a weekend attached to a business trip in Crete.
I enjoyed the great views onto the northern coast of Crete, the quiet location, morning swim in the pool and the friendly service. I disliked an arrogant hungry stray cat on the terrace.

I could say that it is the best hotel, i have ever stayed. It combines an extraordinary view with the real sense of hospitality and privacy, too. Everywhere, you realize a good taste, that makes the difference... Congratulations to the owner. I recommend Nymphes, without any hesitation.

My husband and I and our 10 yr old daughter stayed for a week in June at Nymphes in Crete. I had found the property searching on trip advisor and by reading the reviews, and decided this was the place for us.

We flew in from Athens to Heraklion airport which was an easy 50 min flight on Aegean airlines who are very reasonable.

Pepy the owner of Nymphes, had arranged a taxi to take us from the airport to her home and then had a rental car delivered to the property later that day. Doing it this way allieviates the stress of trying to find the property- only 30 mins from the airport but could be tricky to find as you need to leave the highway and navigate a somewhat windy road up the hills.

We arrived there to find Pepy waiting for us on the driveway, a good indication of her hospitality! Our unit/balcony was the one in the trip advisor shots and although weathered, it was a great apartment. They are very compact, but sufficient and have all the basics. Rada, who helps Pepy with the property was great too and leant us her fan and was always willing to help out. Pepy also allows you to use her internet connection and computer free of charge which was great as I waskeeping a blogpage of our travels for everyone at home. She also leant out books to customers and had a free trading of novels that you could help yourself to.

We had a fantastic 6 nights there, swimming every day and relaxing in the sun. The sky is an incredible blue here and you can see so far out that the sea and the sky meet on the horizon!
It was pretty hot - around the 40 C mark each day and that beautiful pool and sun loungers were put to good use.

The nearby town of Agia Pelaia has everything you need and seems to be filled with british and german young families. We went to several restaurants there but our favourite by far was Kri Kri, owned by George - who's specialty is cooking flambe meals while you watch. He also served us home made lemoncello sorbet and sweet cheese pies covered in honey free of charge.

In conclusion, Nymphes was a fantastic place to stay, one that felt like home. From all the gorgeous cats Pepy keeps for the children who come to stay, to the 'specialness' of the place - we will definitely return.

Its location see's it in easy reach of anywhere on Crete via car (there is really only 1 main highway, so it is easy to follow). We drove from Heraklion to Kastelli (Kissimo) on the far western point of Crete, easily in about 4 hours return.
The people and the environment are all relaxed and you leave feeling like you dont want to go- as simple as that!

Well last year we decided to visit Creta and because of the words of some friends we decided to stay in the Nymphes apartments... The friends guaranteed to us about that hotel , we booked the rooms through internet and then booked a car and got there... It was amazingly beautiful and I just couldn't believe my eyes of the view. Pepi was very welcoming, The rooms were clean and cozi with,as i said before, the best view. The best night there was when some family friends of Pepi gathered in the garden next to the swimming pool and played traditional Greek songs. We finally realized the Greek hospitality. Nevertheless its a very good place for people who wants to visit all around Crete cause the hotel is a perfect hide-out for visiting the most beautiful places. A beautiful hotel that you should visit and that we consider visiting again this year.
