We had a drink (which was fine) in front of the cathedral that had been buried in the sand for years and years. Unfortunately, the hotel terrace extension is located on the cathedral place. When I figured that out, I was ashamed to have sponsored that petty commercial move. I guess the municipality agreed and I hope they will change their mind and revoke the authorization.

We're return visitors from the UK to Soulac sue Mer and one of the great finds is this corner hotel, two minutes' walk from the produce market. It's a family-run hotel which clearly doubles as a hang-out for locals. The staff are friendly and attentive, the bar snacks economical, quaffable wine is available by the carafe and, once they get to know you, the welcome is consistently warm.

Town has remained largely unspoilt as stated in my first review 'Tranquil Soulac'. DdeC has updated its rooms which were very well serviced every day with a friendly bonjour after a good breakfast.
Yes it is a tabac with a genuine French atmosphere close to the local amenities & beach, all I need for a seaside holiday :-)
Little noisy at night as the streets are cleaned, bins emptied & local bakery starts but fairly priced; the difference compared to more 'up market' establishments contributes a large part towards dinner at the reasonable selection of local restaurants, even 2 situated on the beach.
Love Soulac, will be back!

This is basically a pub with inexpensive, simple rooms. The bar area looks pretty awful - it even has a gambling corner - but the clientele were perfectly well-behaved when we stayed, no carousing to keep us awake all night. The room was cheaply furnished but spotlessly clean, as was the tiny, moulded shower room. The wi-fi worked and was free, breakfast was reasonable for the price and residents are given access through a back door to avoid traipsing through the bar. All in all, perfectly reasonable for the price.

We stayed in Soulac sur Mer for two nights. The hotel was friendly and welcoming. The rooms were small and clean. The bathrooms we tiny. Like a toilet on an airplane if it had a shower. But it was sufficient.
The reception area is a bit dark and bleak looking but the rooms are bright and airy.
If you are traveling by bike they let you park them in the u used reception area on the first floor. Good security with coded access locks.
I recommend to velo travelers especially.
