I can't recommend this villa highly enough. It's fantastically well equipped and the pictures do not do it justice.
Many villas say they have air-con but I've found in the past that not every room has it or it is inadequate. Villa Andro has an independently controlled air-con unit in EVERY room except the bathrooms and they are more than capable of cooling the space.
The villa has 2 very well equipped kitchens - one inside and one 'outside' summer kitchen.
The walk to town is quite do-able at about a mile but it is a bit of a hill on the way back so you need to take it slow (especially if full of squid and wine). The advantage here is that town is walkable but it is also peaceful & quiet to enjoy sitting on the terrace in the sun or in the shade that is available at any time of day. The views from the terrace are great and the only downside of having the mountain behind you is that the sun goes down behind it a half-hour or so earlier than down in the town.
At the bottom of the garden there are tomato, aubergine and courgette plants which we could help ourselves to. The produce was SO much tastier than the stuff in the UK supermarket (especially when cooked with fresh rosemary that I picked in the garden). There are pomegranate and fig trees in the garden but we were way too early in the year for those.
But the best bit? The owner, Mario, lives about 200m away and he is incredibly friendly and helpful. He took me on a tour of the area and showed me good restaurants etc. He and his wife brought dinner over on the last day and we had delicious octopus, chicken and pork - although I don't suppose that an inclusive dinner is guaranteed in the hire ;-)
In conclusion, if you are going to holiday in this area, stay at this villa.
As two families with teenage children visiting Croatia for the first time, we'll certainly be returning! The villa has wonderful outdoor areas which are well equipped, husband was a real fan of the outdoor oven/BBQ Pool is lovely to cool off in and plenty of shady areas to relax or sit out in glorious sunshine looking at stunning views of mountain or town of Orebic. Conveniently located easy to get to a variety of other small local towns - car needed. You can walk into Orebic but be aware of steep hillside walk, not recommended for the unfit or frail but easy with car! We walked in several times and thoroughly enjoyed meals out, fab & entertaining ice creams and cocktails, felt extremely safe. The villa owner Mario is a superb host, not intrusive but both genuinely helpful and generous was so lovely to wake up to a 'delivery' of fresh fruit, local wines and his help in organising boat hire was much welcomed too! All in all a thoroughly enjoyable and much to be remembered family holiday spent with great friends.
We stayed (August 2015) for a week with our two children. But this villa could comfortably accommodate up to eight people. The pool was at a perfect temperature throughout and there is a lot of space around the villa making parking easy and ensuring that you don't feel penned in or overlooked by a handful of neighbouring villas. The location is very peaceful - the only noise is the chirping of the crickets ...which are very chirpy! There's even a little gym with some exercise machines and a toddlers' play area with swings etc. The villa is about 1km from Orebic, at the bottom of the surrounding hills. You are high enough to get a pretty view out towards the sea. However, it does mean that unless you are up for quite a long walk, you are dependent on using a car to get to and from restaurants, food shops and the sea. We did see walkers on their way to/from hikes in the hills or simply going to and from other villas but we used our car because we are wimps and it was VERY hot (lovely!). One of the most amazing things about this villa is owner, Mario. He is ever so friendly without being intrusive or pushy and on our second day offered to drive us around to help us get our bearings and show us where things were. This was really helpful and pointed out some things I doubt we would have found on our own. Mario also gave us some bottles of local wine and grappa and some completely delicious figs. And when we enquires about a taxi he went and found the details of a local driver but also offered to drive us himself if we got stuck. Mario really could not have been more helpful or kind and really helped us to make the most of our time in Orebic. And we very much enjoyed our stay at his lovely villa.
