We stayed one night here in a room with shared bathroom before heading to Mabul. Contrasting with the city of Semporna, which is dirty and smells bad, this place is colorful and feels ok. The size of our room was good. The shared facilities at the upper floor were functional, but could be cleaner, and when we mentioned that one of the WC was stuck the front desk manager did not take immediate action. In the evening, the ground floor lounge where the wifi works best is invaded by Scuba Junkie staff, some of them watching Youtube videos without headphones... I don't keep a memorable souvenir of this place. A good thing is the family café / restaurant next door, offering a large choice of drinks and food at very reasonable prices.

I stayed here after my trip to Pulau Mabul. The room is OK, the bath simple, the staff helpful. The bed was comfortable. Options for breakfast are available around the corner.

The accommodation on Pulau Mabul was a little nicer.

My first time diving will never be forgotten, not just because of the beauty or how serial it is but because of the my teachers and the the people I dived with.

Rachel has been one of the kindest and most understanding people I've ever met. My open water course was defiantly made a lot better by learning with her and being able to slowly go through procedures and generally learning about diving couldn't of been made any better- thank you!

Bangkok woman really are fellas

My advanced course was taught by Maadil. First of all I want to say, sorry for not being good at navigation (I know that frustrated you). Secondly, thank you for not getting mad but instead explaining things step by step in a way that everything wasn't forced but enjoyed.
To anyone wanting to learn I would highly suggest coming to Semporna/ Mabul , even though the place itself isn't much, diving adds that worth while part to your trip.

The hostel isn't the nicest or grandest of all places but hey it's a hostel... All you do is sleep and meet other travellers there- this was no problem. The beds were comfy and the people you meet area all level minded, minus the few big head (always got to have them wherever you go though).

All in all I would defiantly say come to Semporna and defiantly dive with Scuba Junkie.
Thank you to all the instructors and people I met whilst diving, defiantly brought one of my favourite highlights to my travels.

See ya lata! ;)

you feel like a huge diving family which is just amazing!

lovely property, very well maintained. positioned right across the sand path from their dive centre on mabul island beside a bajau village. lovely people but a little unsightly as they were not disciplined to keep their quarters and environs clean, thus reminiscent of a slum. nice beachfront though nobody would swim in the pristine turquoise waters as they were somewhat littered. the people running the show on mabul island were lovely - especially the quartermaster at the reception. food was typically island food but sufficient. not the best for the palate but good enough for us. quiet property with nothing else much to do if one is not a diver or diving. rooms were well put-up and cleanliness cannot be faulted.

front office hospitality at semporna however, left a little to be desired. a little friendliness or a smile can sometimes make a difference to the clients' experience, especially fresh into the unfamiliar coastal township of semporna.

Room Tip: rooms away from the reception tend to be quieter.

Loved our stay there!! We stayed in the vip room which had a TV and HBO which was great because there is literally nothing to do in semporna but dive. Dove in sibuan and mabul, we really enjoyed mabul but the island in sibuan is gorgeous. The dive shop is super organized and all the staff are friendly and really helpful. Val was our dive master and we really recommend her!! Great time there :):):)
