I had stayed with my family , which includes an infant as well in the month of October. This Hotel is very good and the hospitality was good as well. Food is okay. Check in went on smooth. Only issue was that the hotel was being painted and other renovation work were being carried out. So ,there was lot of noise in the night. They could have avoided the work in the night. Hotel wifi was not up to the mark. Pool is too good by the way. Overall an okay hotel but a bit expensive.

Reviews on Tripadvisor seemed decent, so I booked an accomodation at Lazy Lagoon.
Stinking washrooms, bad service, pathetic food,non-working TV, No warm water, More than an hour & 3 reminders to deliver a dental kit. The list is endless.

Even the location isnt something great.
The reception isnt capable of helping you with Airport pickup/drop or hiring a self-drive car (common feature in Goa which other hotels have done for me in the past)

Just do yourself a favour.
Ignore this place!!

It's in Arpora and is at a pretty stand-alone location. Not so close to baga ( 3 km, 30 min walk or a 300 Rs cab ride return) or anjuna ( 3+ km, 45min walk or a 600 Rs cab ride). The nights are really better spent at some more happenning places with nothing in and around. As mentioned there are no great restaurants around (avoid Rasa, where food was average and The Village restaurant) with only a small shop and a cab stand. The view from the hotel is ok but not spectacular. However I quite liked the place itself with a rather nice pool in the heart of it. The rooms are cosy, the bathroom is nice and service was good as was the buffet breakfast. I spent 3 nights with family and what came as a major irritant was they failed to inform that there was construction, repair and painting going on throughout the day and though quieter rooms were available they were made available only when we protested. We were given a pool facing room at the front but I am assuming the rooms at the back end of the resort where the buildings converge would not be that great. In all, quite good for a couple of nights but not the best for 1st time Goa visitors or those who want to enjoy a happening nightlife.

Room tip: rooms at the front have better views

Hi, we are a group of 14 friends from Mumbai who had booked this hotel, ' Sarovar Portico, Lazy Lagoon, Goa', in fact our friend Vijay Lakhotia who is a regular in Goa recommended this hotel.
We had booked 7 suits & checked in at 6pm on 3rd September. We were well received at the reception with a nice welcome drink and escorted to our rooms. In a short while we were at the swimming pool and indulged in a round of throwball. We were carrying beer cans with us and we were politely requested not to drink at the pool as per the rules which we quitely followed.
Back at the rooms we refreshed ourselves at the well-equipped & cozy rooms and headed to 1 of the rooms for a session of drinks & gossip. At the click of a button & I must say within no time ice & starters were made available by some smart efficient room service boys. The evening turned out to be a winner with the evening meals being had by a few and the rest making their way to Brittos, the Baga super restaurant.
The next day we headed to Marbela beach in a mini bus quickly managed by the Hotel travel desk. The ride was great and we returned to the Hotel at around 4.30pm. Some friends wanted to rest & headed to the rooms and we, the tireless bunch of guys headed straight to the bar. Here is 1 experience that turned sour for us in particular.
I wanted to have Apple Juice & asked for it which was turned down because of the bar unavailability. I asked the barman to check for the same at the restaurant, there was no response. The Barman refused to even acknowledge my request & simply put his head down. Had it been a busy Bar I would have understood but to find only us in the bar and this gentleman not willing to cater to a simple request irked me. I suggested that the juice is available in the nearby store & would appreciate if he could call for it. But our man was simply not interested. He went out of the bar & returned to tell me that the security guy was not allowing him to go across. When i asked the security guy it was a different story.
To cut it short the juice was not served even when the matter was taken to the Manager level. Generally it is ok, but when u r on a holiday in Goa and that too at a nice Hotel where u feel ur smallest of request would be looked into, this was a dampener. I got hooked into WHY A APPLE JUICE WAS NOT SERVED!
The hotel is beautiful, the breakfast, meals are superb but the attitude of the Barman alongwith a few backers was pathetic to say the least. We stayed for 3 nights without any commotion, nuisance, arguments over hotel bills or any such a thing.
We checked out on 6th September.
The Hotel Management needs to seriously look into this weird unbending approach by a few staff members.
We as a group very often move out of Mumbai for vacations and next time we will have to seriously look for a Non Sarovar Hotel.
It is just a feedback to make u make us serve better. Thanks
