I spent a week with my wife and my teenager daughter at the Jass Villa in December 2015. The location is beautiful, relaxing and neat. My wife absolutely FELL IN LOVE with the Villa and with the excellent treatment we've received from Issa. Issa is very caring and he's always around in case we needed help. The owner is very pro-active and he responds to any kind of query at any time of the day.

“best location!”

A great little villa right on the beach in Jambiani. Best thing about the location is that this is very much a "locals" beach and not some horrible sterile resort where the local residents are excluded. This meant that we got to see kids playing and some great soccer games each evening - lots of fun. Right between two unpretentious restaurants and with possibly the best "beach shack" restaurant in Jambiani behind it means that there is no shortage of places to eat if you want these - even more unpretentious restaurants within easy walking distance N up the beach. Possible to swim at high tide from about 20m in front of the house - at low tide, a bit of a walk, but provides interesting changing views from the upper terrace (where we virtually lived as it was nice and breezy - less hot than indoors).
The house is modest, but adequate unless you feel the need for luxury ... or aircon - although this would greatly reduce the feeling of "being on the beach". (The house was in line with the price.)
The manager, Issa, was absolutely great! He arranged all sorts of things and checked daily whether we needed anything - a really lovely guy with lots of contacts in the area.
Would recommend to travellers who go to experience a place

Thank you for staying in Jass Villa and for your extensive review. We are really happy that you enjoyed and appreciated the authentic and easy going African lifestyle. Our vision is to have a comfortable but not luxury home where our guests can enjoy one of the most beautiful places in the world. Meeting and interacting with the locals is one of the things our guests appreciate allot. Jambiani is a typical African village with friendly and hospitable people. Thanks again and we hope you will come back one day.

“Perfect for a relaxing vacation”

We stayed in Jass Villa for 10 days and had a wonderful time. It is just like it looks on the picture. We lived in the terass. We had all our meals in the house there. We loved to lie on the sunbeds during the evening and see the stars and then the moon rise from the ocean. I´m picky when it comes to beds but he beds are very comfortable with fans and mosquito nets. There isn´t many mosquitos around as there is always some wind or breeze. Issa helped us with everything we needed.

The house is located on the best part of the beach. There is always things going on at the beach outside the house, kids playing football, fishermen going out with there boats, the women in the village working out in the mornings. There are a few restaurants just next to the house. We liked Hassan and A peace of mind best. All restaurants deliver to the house. We also rented a cook for one dinner. He cooked us an excellent dinner and it was not more expensive then going out.

Altogether we had the most wonderful relaxing vacation.

Thank you for staying at Jass Villa and your great review. We are really happy that you enjoyed your stay. Yes, the location and the terrace is what makes the house so special. The view of the ocean during daytime and the bright stars at night are magnificent. That combined with the close interaction with the local people who live much of their life on the beach is very unique.

“Perfect holiday break”

My husband and 2 friends stayed here for 5 days in December. After a busy Serengeti tour for 8 days it was just perfect. The sand is like flour, the water like a bath. The house is clean, spacious, has an amazing deck perfect for lounging. It has a kitchen, it is hard to find decent shops to cook yourself, but plenty of great, cheap restaurants. Enjoy!

Thank you for staying at Jass Villa and for your nice review. The combo with a Safari and then relaxing by the Beach must be the perfect Holiday. Yes, the shops in Jambiani are very small with very limited assortment. Shopping in Stone Town is highly recommended if you want to cook yourself. Thanks again and hope to see you back again!

“Fantastic stay in Zanzibar!”

We recently stayed at Jass Villa and had a wonderful time! Communications with Tobias were excellent, and Issa was very gracious and helpful throughout our stay. Jambiani is a lovely location - peaceful, with friendly local people and stunning scenery. Mubarak prepared delicious meals each day and brought us fresh fruit. Although the villa itself is no frills, it has a fantastic terrace on the second floor with stunning views, which is where we spent most of our time when we weren't on the beach - just relaxing, eating or watching the kids play outside. We're a family of five, with three young children, and Issa kindly reinforced the terrace railing with ropes and netting to make it safer for the little ones. Great location and great place to stay in a beautiful part of the world... our only suggestion would be to perhaps add a few touches to the bathrooms and living room, to make the villa even more comfortable. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in Zanzibar and highly recommend Jass Villa!
