It was my first glamping experience and it was great. I loved it. It's a beautiful location and the glamping tent is comfortable and warm (it was cold that weekend). I would highly recommend it.
My wife and I stayed two nights in Bathsheba (the Shepherds hut) and had a lovely welcome from Zara on arrival. We were a little unsure what to expect as it was our first time glamping but we we're really impressed by what was on offer. We had full sole use of a very large 3 acre field, a large tented kitchen area separate from the hut, a fire pit with cooking grill and lounging chairs & table and an indoor loo, outdoor shower and sink area. The attention to detail is spot on and everything you could conceivably think of is included (yes even the kitchen sink). Theres a lovely cream tea on arrival, tea, milk, coffee, condiments, salt, pepper, all the cutlery pots & pans you can think of, a jar of marshmallows for toasting on the fire, a little camping stove with grill, the list goes on. When you get into the hut the decor is perfect and calming and the bed looks so cosy. The fire was lit for us ready for our arrival so was lovely and warm and theres plenty of space. Theres loads of books, games and even a jigsaw available to keep you busy and we didn't have to think of anything. It was such a relaxing stay and we really enjoyed sitting by the fire watching the stars. The hut is super cosy and we slept really well, even with a bit of wind and rain. We came expecting to spend a couple of nights in a shepherds hut but what we got was soo much more, a really well thought out and complete experience, thanks Zara!
Stunning setting in a beautiful meadow set at the top of a wide panoramic rise, cosy peaceful retreat close to nature farmland & animals & the birds & bees. Our host Zara was amazing having prepared a warm fire in the shepherds hut & a fire pit outside perfect for toasting marshmallows & watching the sunset. Amenities close by in villages surrounding the site for good food & atmosphere are great The Lamb at Sandford & The ring o bells at Cheritan Fitzpaine & Zara also offered pre prepared meals ready to cook just order in advance. If you need to work off after amazing food a tennis court is available all in all an amazing break.
10 magical days, kids (8y, 5y) didn't want to leave! This is true glamping, with everything you need for a comfortable, warm and hassle-free back to nature holiday. Zara has ensured that you feel spoilt - from the Devon cream tea on arrival, thoughtful provisions in the kitchen area and candles and fairy lights to add charm to the Tent. Flushing loo and outdoor shower were a welcome addition, and proper kitchen sink and big fridge freezer (2 mins walk) were great to have. Campfire was fun with starter marshmallows provided! There is a stack of toys and games, plenty of blankets (which you won't need because of the fire) and firewood provided. Bonus activities were freedom to walk around the property, which is gorgeous, table tennis, tennis courts and the highlight of haystack hide and seek! Another highlight were the hammocks, we all fought over them and spent many lazy hours reading, chilling and playing. Best holiday ever and we are seasoned campers and glampers. Thank you.
We stayed in Gabriel the Bell Tent, as a family of five and we were all so happy and well looked after. The tent is thoughtfully furnished and incredibly comfortable including a wood burning stove that kept us cosy all night. We loved the outdoor shower and even the flushing loo surrounded by oak trees and fields! Our three sons relished the outdoor experience as we cooked our supper on the open fire and afterwards they even washed up in the very well-appointed outdoor kitchen. Zara and Hugh are wonderful generous hosts who have truly thought of every detail and we were delighted with every aspect of our stay. Highly recommended.
