Staying at Casa Saverio, CS, was the highlight of our trip. The house is located in the town of Furore which is built on the side of a mountain on the Amalfi Coast. The views from CS are some of the most spectacular that you will ever see. Enjoy the sunrise as well as the sunset on the large wrap around balcony with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The home is well represented by the pictures on the website and most importantly are the amenities: kitchen has an extensive selection of cooking utensils and cookware, coffee pot, espresso maker, gas stove, oven, large refrigerator, dishwasher, glassware, plates, flatware etc…The kitchen is very modern and newly remodeled. There are three bedrooms (2 double and 1 with two single beds). The beds are very comfortable, firm and the linens are definitely good quality. The double bedrooms have their own bathroom with a powerful showers, lots of natural light, beautiful tile floor, modern fixtures and lots of clean and fresh towels, shampoo and body gel are available. There is also a laundry room with washer and plenty of soap. No dryer, but just hang the clothes on the clotheslines outside the you'll have great smelling clothes for the rest of the trip. CS also offers cooking lessons as they have Chef Cristina who is a fabulous cook. We couldn't resist the cooking lessons after tasting her delicious peach pie, meat and cheese tray, orange marmalade and welcoming snacks that were provided upon our arrival. Chef Cristina taught us how to make potato gnocchi, authentic Italian tomato sauce, lemon chicken cutlets and lemon cake with lemon cream center with merengue frosting. CS is surrounded by an organic garden and everything that is cooked by the family is fresh and tasty. Finally, Saverio (the owner) and his father were gracious to drive us to Positano and Amalfi during the days that we wanted to sightsee but not sure if this is available all the time. The transportation arrangements from Naples train station to CS were made by Saverio. This house is perfect for a family that is looking for a peaceful location but be aware that there is lots of walking to nearby markets and other attractions if you don;t have a car. The walking can be difficult from someone who is not active so please be prepared with good walking shoes. There is a great restaurant, Relish, just a few steps away from CS. The food is home made and the owner speaks English as does Saverio.
Our group of 4 was 2 couples. We wanted to experience the Amalfi Coast and found that Furore offered us a wonderful, beautiful base from which we could visit and explore all the surrounding areas such as Amalfi, Priano and Positano. Casa Saverio was an incredible experience. The ancient structure houses a fully modern, besutifully appointed vacation rental. The 2 bedrooms are large, with comfortable queen beds and beautiful ensuite bathrooms. The 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds and is gorgeous. There is a 3rd bathroom, and a separate laundry/storage area. Saverio and his family could not have been more hospitable. We arrived to find 2 bottles of their very fine wine in the fridge and a lovely bowl of fruit from their yard. The rental has beautiful and spacious outdoor areas. A patio and table that would comfortably hold 6 for breakfast and a comfortable conversation area under the olive trees, beautifully lit for the evenings. A small garden that you are welcome to raid and several lounge chairs to relax and read a book. There is a garage for parking if you have a car. As everywhere on the Amalfi Coast there are stairs...there is a lift for your suitcases so you don't have to drag them around. Very convenient. I can't say enough about our experience here. I highly recommend spending an evening with Saverio and his family and take their cooking class and enjoy an evening of traditional Italian cooking. I would go back in a heartbeat.
We booked our property with Saverio who was extremely attentive and would answer all my inquires very quickly. The property is located in Furore. A nice break from all the crowds that are in Amalfi and Positano. The place is beautiful. Clean and beautifully decorated. The view is absolutely breathtaking!! On arrival we were greeted by Saverio's dad, brother and a neighbor. They helped us with our luggage. They had fresh tomatoes, bread, wine and a fresh baked pie! Such gracious hosts!! Saverio would check in daily to see if we needed anything!! I hope to get back there again!! We had an excellent time!!
If you have a car and looking to explore Amalfi, this is the place.
Very nice apt. With everything included, great view & very warm hosting by Saverio and his family (we got some homemade treats as well).
I'll just add that I stayed there with another 2 friends - each had a his own room and bathroom and we were picky about finding the perfect spot, price & place itself.
