Everyone has said it all - this is just one of the most special places I have ever stayed. The rooms - although a little small - are beautiful, the food fantastic, the staff wonderful and the setting is sublime. A $65m view to die for. I will be back.

Such a beautiful place ideally situated between Amalfi and Positano. From the minute we arrived we felt relaxed and nothing would be too much trouble. From the shuttle bus to and from Amalfi whenever we wanted, to the mealtime chats with the resident chef. The hotel itself is of the highest quality. Breathtaking views and beautiful gardens.

The Monastero Santa Rosa is literally heaven on earth. I challenge anyone to fault this place! The building is magnificent and it has been restored so beautifully with such attention to detail yet still providing modern day comforts.

The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble, I think if I'd asked them to fill my bath with sea water they'd have done it.

There is nothing flash or pretentious about this hotel so if you're after bling and ostentation then this is not the place for you. But if you're after understated luxury and elegance, sumptuous furniture, pristine rooms and devoted staff this is the place.

The gardens are fabulous and the pool and views spectacular. A special mention to the pool guys, they are great.

Breakfast, well no buffet here - it's literally whatever you want served with a smile. The restaurant is idyllic and the chef 'Gunther' fantastic deserves a Michelin Star. He never failed to come out and chat to his guests.

This hotel has only 20 rooms and I counted almost 40 sun beds, daybeds and cosy corners to sit quietly. There's also the Spa and again that's just as amazing. Excellent choice of treatments and products.

I cannot praise The Monastero Santa Rosa enough and we are worldwide seasoned travellers. There is something just special about it. We love this place and we will be back.

Where do I start!! Monastero Santa Rosa is absolutely amazing and one of the best (if not the best) hotels we have ever stayed at. The grounds are stunning and the service/staff are beyond impeccable. It is a 17th century monastery. The owner kept quite a bit of the integrity/structure of the monastery and added some modern touches. It is obvious that she had history and luxury in mind, perhaps that is why they only have 20 rooms. Rooms have heated bathroom floors, USB charging, bath salts, bathrobes, slippers, complimentary bottles of water, complimentary movies on demand, anything and everything you could possibly think of. The spa is amazing - anyone that stays there should definitely take advantage of the complimentary hydrotherapy service as well as reserve the massages. The restaurant (Il Refettorio - separate TA review), room service and food/wine were fantastic. Pool, bar, reading room, fitness center, sunset terrace and the Hotel itself were so beautiful and relaxing. They even have complimentary round trip shuttle service to the town of Amalfi. The staff are so accommodating - anything you need/want - they will do anything in their power to get it for you. Stefano and the guys at Il Refettorio truly went above and beyond to make breakfast, lunch and dinner a wonderful experience. Francesco, Alesandro and Sandino took good care of us at the pool. All of the ladies at the Spa truly catered to us during our hydrotherapy and massage sessions. Housekeeping keeps your room immaculate during the day and for turndown - even leaving little goodies on the bed when you get back in the evening. They also gave us a goodbye/thank you gift (a box of pasta with recipe) when we left.

If I could rate it beyond 10 stars, I would not think twice as they deserve it. What a phenomenal and truly relaxing experience for us!! I cannot recommend MSR enough to everyone I know. I only hope that I can return VERY SOON because it truly was a piece of heaven for us during our stay.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view.
