“Romantic and friendly with picturesque views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2011

Really beautiful boutique hotel in the picturesque Atrani.

Atrani itself is lovely completely unspoilt and original. The sea view is incredible and the people are friendly.

The hotel is at the top of several steep flights of steps but don't let it out you off.
The hotel is cool, modern and small with friendly staff. It's really romantic and I would highly recommend it for couples as the rooms have interesting lighting, jacuzzi baths and blackout blinds for sleeping in as well as air conditioning.

The only one fault I could pick is the breakfast is really average but the food in Atrani and Amalfi is incredible so perhaps it's worth taking breakfast outside the hotel??

A greta hotel and a great trip. Make sue you visit Ravello and Positano as well.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a sea view as it's incredible. Also some of the sea view rooms have a jacuzzi...

Yes there are 83 steps up to this hotel, but from our first moment we were impressed. A staff member came and carried both our bags up the steps for us. All the staff were friendly, spoke good English and were very obliging. As for the room, wow! It was just as you see on the website and had a double balcony with great views of the ocean. We had room 301 which also had a Jacuzzi. No wifi but free use of Internet in the bar. Breakfast was superb with a great range. If you are put off by the steps then I would suggest Amalfi coast is not for you. Atrani and Palazzo Ferraioli are true gems on the coast.

Room Tip: 301 and I would assume 401 have double balconies and jacuzzi.

I spent 4 nights at this hotel with my husband and 2 other couples. After finding the hotel and being greeted by the 80 steps to get up to the room, I found the actual rooms relatively spacious (For Europe), simple and it was indeed clean. They do control the air conditioning at the from desk and that proved to be disruptive. We would fall asleep while it was cool in the room and wake up in the middle of the night boiling hot, having to call reception and ask them to turn the air conditioning back on again. There are expenses to running a hotel and trying to cut costs by shutting off the air conditioning is at the clients expense, which I think is absurd. While I love Atrani and would come back, I would stay elsewhere. Also, the spa was not worth it. Had a massage - they should call it an oil bath - it wasnt satisfactory and the friendly woman who is the supposed massage therapist didnt seem qualified.

We had a little trouble finding our way to the hotel, as we took a ferry from Salerno to Amalfi and didn't have good directions to Atrani, other than "it's a 5-10 minute walk." The hotel sent someone to meet us outside of the main tunnel and he walked us down to the main road where there was a narrow staircase and passageways up to the entrance to the hotel. We weren't sure we were heading to the right place but we were so pleased when we arrived. The accommodations were outstanding. We had the Liza room - 401. The views were unbelievable, the room was very hip, spacious and clean, and the service was great. I would return in a heartbeat and I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
We slept both nights with the windows/doors open because we like the fresh air. This works well unless you are bothered by the church bells or the noise from the city square.
As far as walking to Amalfi, there is a pedestrian tunnel next to the underground parking garage that cuts the trip in half and is much safer. Not as pretty, but after walking once, take the tunnel!

Room Tip: A corner room with an ocean view!!
