We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and found the view from the balcony to be absolutely stunning! The room itself was clean (even though the floor was a bit dusty) and equipped with an AC, which was working, but not very efficient!
Bathroom was very clean, but also very small (long legged people will have problems sitting on the toilet).
In the room there was a quite hearable electric buzzing from the fusebox, which might be annoying for some people during the night.

The breakfast buffet did not have a huge variety of things, but everything was fresh and tasty. Combined with the awesome terrace of the restaurant the breakfast was very pleasing.
Wifi was working well in the room, but apparently one needs an extra access at the beach (which we didn't bother about). Regarding the private beach - it is quite pretty and calm, but before 2pm it costs 10€ per person (which is similar to the other beaches, offering sunbeds and umbrellas in town) and there is no more sun after ~4pm.
All in all it was a very nice experience staying in this hotel - would visit again.

Hotel was very clean & staff helpful & courteous.
Rooms overlook the sea,as does the restaurant,
Bathroom ok & shower was adequate, not that good if your a rather large person.
Need to get a taxi into Salerno for the ferries to Positano & Amalfi but only a short ride
(20 euros normally was the standard fare)
A short downhill walk (5 mins) to a number of restaurants & a few bars,
A walk uphill (10-15 mins) to the town of Vietri, very pleasant small town with lots of ceramics for sale & plenty of eateries

Having just spent time in the heart of the Amalfi Coast it was a let down to stay in Vietri Sur Mare. We found the hotel very average, lacking the warm welcomes we have been receiving in Italy the past 10 days.

The room had been renovated, so we were happy with that - a bit perplexed why the hand basin was next to the tv and not in the bathroom?

The view was great, until you look left to the main port of Salerno. The two biggest downfalls of our stay were not in control of the hotel, the sea gulls which squarked loudly at any and all hours of the day and night. The other being the ships in port with generators or horns going 24/7

We did enjoy two good restaurants in the old part of Vietri, and inadvertently knocked off 3 of the top 10 things to do in Salerno in an hour (sadly being a walk thru the gardens, walk along the esplanade and the town duomo) so my tip is unless you've got a great reason to go to Salerno or Vietri Sur Mare then there a better places to go

The view from the balcony in the room out to the ocean was to die for, absolutely glorious. The room was pretty basic but functional and no real complaints. The hotel is a bit dated and could probably do with a bit of sprucing in general, rooms included. Good base for visiting the village about a 10-15 minute walk up the hill or the beach is a 5 minute walk down the hill. I would probably look for somewhere different if I visited again but also wouldn't be too disappointed if I stayed here again.

Me and my gf just ended a seven days stay att la Lucertola and must say that we are really pleased that we found this hotel. Relaxed atmosphere, nice and friendly staff, clean and quite spacious room. We had no problem with wi-fi connection as some seem to have had.

The location is between Vietri centre and Vietri Marina with a few minutes walk to either, though uphill to the centre. The upside is that it's quiet and you can really enjoy the sound of the sea from your balcony. The view is great and to me the proximity to the harbour was not a big problem. The hotel's own beach was ok.

The breakfast had a great selection of cakes an pastries but were a little thin in other departments. But everything tasted good. We ate dinner at the hotel twice during our stay and although not exceptional, still good food reasonably priced. A big plus for the super-friendly service.

We liked Lucertola a lot and would go again. Also Vietri is a good base and the closeness to Salerno facilitates reaching other places on the coast by boat-trips or boat-taxi. Vietri is nice enough with an overflow of cheramics-shops but much less touristy than Amalfi and Ravello that we also visited.
