Right in the old town, it was a great feeling to sleep in this part of Rhodes. Yes there is music playing at night but it was never an issue for me, it was much more difficult to sleep in Santorini with the wind howling! Here I feel asleep quickly, and shutting the windows does the job (and there is air conditioning too). Also, I would note that I can't imagine there are much quitter hotels nearby, because most of them are outside the old town! Which means lots of noisy traffic all day all night, which is not the case in the old town. I have seen no other hotels in the old town, only houses for rent.

The lady (who I think is the owner or his wife) is very nice, always helpful with directions. I had lost my iPhone charger and she gave me one someone else had forgotten at this hotel, offered me free pastry daily (I can't guarantee that this is always the case!).

It also turns out that this has been the lowest rate I've had for a hotel in all of Greece, and yet I have been in some very untouristy areas.

The only issue was that the wifi signal was sometimes weak so I had to use the internet from the lobby (my iphone or the PC). But this was fine, just out of my room, and easily accessible, with the pastries on the table next to me.

Overall I would have no reason to book anywhere else. When I come back to Rhodes I'll stay here again.

Our group had five rooms, four doubles and one triple. The doubles were 36 Euros a night, the triple was 50. All had functioning air conditioners. The rooms were small but adequate and the whole place was very clean. All the windows had shutters and drapes so you could block out the brilliant sunshine.

Being located only a few blocks from the Marine Gate and in the heart of the Old Town, just walking out the door drops you back into medieval times. The hotel is on the second floor over a nightclub, a restaurant/cafe, and a little grocery store.

On the first day I wondered why several of the streets (actually, they are more like alleys, quite narrow, no cars) had no shops on them. That night I found out why. The nightclub operators move couches, tables, chairs etc. outside at dusk, open the doors to their nightclubs, and crank up the music. You are right in the heart of the nightclub scene. That's great fun until you decide to go to bed. Then you need the ipod playing soft music into your ear buds, or ear plugs. Otherwise, your feet will be tapping all night long. Our last night there was a Satruday night. I kid you not, the music from one club was still thumping loudly when we left the hotel at 7:15 am to catch the high speed ferry to Halki.

Regardless, we all slept just fine. We came prepared.

The front door is ocked at midnight. You will need your key to get in. That can make things a trifle awkward if the roommates don't return to the hotel together.

They have a computert available for internet access. It worked sometimes. They say they accept credit cards but that didn't work when we were paying so we had to pay cash. There are cash machines just a couple of blocks away.

No cars are allowed in the neighborhood so prepare to lug your luggage to and from.

A small laundry operates just up the street. 6 Euros for a washing machine load washed, dried, and folded. Drop off to pick up was about 2 hours.

A great base for exploring Rhodes Island. The Domus Rodos is very conveniently located (as long as you don't mind the all-night night club that rages on very close by) and good value for money. The rooms are small (especially the bathroom which was miniscule) but clean and well-equipped. The biggest problem we had was that we flooded the bathroom every time we showered as the floor sloped away from the drain hole. Overall, if you'd like a friendly hotel that puts you right into the midst of all the is happening in the Old Town then I'd recommend the Domus Rodos.
