We visited the hotel this for the second time, was there last year before it was updated. When we arrived this year, after a long delay due to flight they were so helpful we were shown to our rooms straight away. The food was very good and the extra restaurants are great too. The improvements are truly outstanding and we are looking to go again soon.

The hotel was nice , food was good with good service and facilities. However the beds were terribly uncomfortable and the resort town of Faliraki was just the pits with drunken louts and sleazy bars. Wont be going back.

Our stay was 17th to 24th August, our party consisted of three 16 yr olds, two 20 yr olds, & my wife & I as the responsible Adults ;) lol. This was our 2nd visit in 2 yrs, The Hotel is extremely clean & tidy as the maids are continuously cleaning all area's including outdoor facilities. The rooms were of a good size, extremely clean (as new) & beds were new & very comfortable, All Staff are very helpful & friendly, the Animation team were brilliant with all ages, the food was excellent with a good choice for all Nationalities, some dishes freshly cooked for a few minutes wait. Drinks & Snacks were always available around the pools. The Beach Bar is in a really nice location, & to get out of the sun & have a cool beer (or 2). The other Bars are also excellent, especially the indoor Cocktail Bar. The Hotel location is excellent, being situated directly on the lovely Faliraki main beach which is sandy & gently slopes into the crystal clear sea. The main entrance is at the end of the road with no passing traffic & looks fantastic at night. The lively Bar Street & Club Street are close by ( 2 mins) along with the Taxi rank & bus stop. If you prefer a quieter night out head along the beach towards the Harbour where there's some traditional Greek Taverna's & a beautiful little Church, or If you stay at the hotel you can either enjoy a quiet drink or join in with the hotels nightly entertainment. We had taxi's to & from the airport which cost 27euro's each way taking about 25 mins. A great time was had by all our party, we will be back.

I stayed in the hotel for a week with my sister and it was just grrreat!

We arrived in the middle of the night but the receptionist helped us and we got to our room.
The only "bad" thing was that the beds were a little bit hard, but I didn't mind, they had even put sandwiches and water in our fridge so that we wouldn't have to fall asleep hungry(!)

The cleaning ladies cleaned our room great and it was soo fresh and nice there.

The men who showed us our table in the maon restaurant were so friendly and the waiters and waitresses were great!

In the italian a la carte-restaurany, Petros cooked delicious food, which i really recommend!

The animation-team was great and if we had any questions the receptionists had the answers!

Everything was GREAT that week, they even made us a birthday cake and sang our last evening :-)

I'd definetly go back there and I really recommend this hotel! :-)

I spent 7 nights at the Faliraki Beach hotel on an all inclusive holiday basis with my wife and 12 y/o daughter from Aug 17 – Aug 25 ’11 and here are the things that left me with an impression about the hotel and the resort – the good and the bad.

This 400 room hotel has recently been refurbished and everything was immaculately presented. The entire area seemed to be newly paved with marble flooring throughout the hotel inside and outside which did make the pool areas a tad slippery if you were not careful. Plenty of sun beds and shade.

The food was typical buffet style served in a large communal restaurant for Breakfast, Lunch and Evening Dinner . The food was very good quality but it got a bit boring after a few days. This is more of a reflection of all inclusive holidays and not a criticism of the quality of the food. The main restaurant was supplemented by 5 very good themed restaurants all of which needed to be booked via the reception for a reservation a couple of days beforehand – a choice of Sushi , Asian , Italian, Mexican & Greek –at no extra cost on the all inclusive cost basis. These themed restaurants made welcome change once the monotony of the buffet style restaurant kicked in. I never tried the cocktails and the beer (lager) was passable, however don’t expect to get a hangover drinking it no matter how much you drink. The staff throughout the hotel were always very helpful and courteous – the service was really excellent.

The 2 pools cafe bars did a great trade and worked hard all day – especially ILias and the lady who worked with him near the kids pool close to the beach. Also try the crepes served from the cafe bar near the larger pool, however the quality of the crepes very much depended on who made them – they will make them with whatever filling you want.

Our room was clean and functional however the beds were incredibly firm and uncomfortable to the extent that I, wife and daughter all woke up every morning with aching backs. Also the floors being of marble accentuated the noise of any furniture being moved about in any of the rooms adjacent to ours (chairs etc) – either next door, upstairs or downstairs – it was truly aggravating especially early in the morning or late in the evening when the 20 y/o + drunks rolled in from bars in the town the early hours - That’s if you hadn’t been woken up by their rowdy behaviour in the hotel corridors and slamming their room doors beforehand.

The animation team were ok - the birdy song and the Hokey Cokey are the same the world over and the kids loved it !!

Of special note, that Russian and/or East Europeans seemed to account for 70 % of the guests at this hotel – now I’m trying hard not to be judgmental, but sufficient to say that the manners of some of them would not be considered acceptable per Brit (western European?) standards – they Q jump, they push in front and some of them would make better use of a shovel rather than a knife and fork at meal times – unfortunately a sizeable minority left me with that lasting impression. Some really obese folks in that part of the world who think all inclusive also mean they need to pile it high on their plate to get their money’s worth . It was truly shameful the amount of waste some of them left on their plates.

From a resort perspective , If Tattoo parlours , shops selling tat and bars showing Premiership football matches on large flat panel plasma TV's are your thing then you will love Falaraki – however don’t come here if you are looking for a resort with sophisticated and traditional Greek night life. The beach at Faliraki is mediocre and overcrowded in my opinion – it is clean with plenty of opportunity for water sports but Rhodes has much better beaches elsewhere. Lindos is a much more typical Greek resort and in my opinion a higher quality which is only 35 km down the road and is really worth a visit. On getting about the island beyond Faliraki, the lady who operates the Marathon car rental desk from inside the hotel lobby area wasn’t particularly helpful – she took forever to advise me if there was a rental available sometime over the next 24-48 hours. I ended up booking with Apollo Car rental who have an office just outside the hotel and was 10 Euros /day cheaper all inclusive for a similar car.

Recommend arranging a taxi to / from the hotel to the airport – I arranged it through the tour operator for 65 Euros return – it beats sitting on a bus for 2 hours as guests get dropped off /picked up along the way. The local Faliraki taxi service charges 41 Euros one way to the airport

Overall a nicely presented hotel with high quality staff let down by the fact that the beds are uncomfortable and the noises coming from various sources from adjacent rooms and corridors, in a resort area where tackiness abounds in ‘shovel’ loads !! ;-)

Would I go back ? – No
