Guessing we weren’t served by Alessandro from the other reviews as the service was poor. We were told half the restaurant was reserved so we couldn’t sit there, when in fact they just wanted us to sit up front so it looked busy. I tried ordering the combo deal for one of us at 6:30pm (available on the menu from 5-7) and was told it wasn’t available, which was odd. After ordering and eating our food, which was nice food, we heard a local being offered the combo deal after 7pm. My husbands dish was cleared as soon as he had finished his meal, I was only half way through mine. It might have been a one off bad experience, and food was good; but service not so good.

Tiramisu is a really nice restaurant in the heart of Santa Teresa. They make the pasta there which is so delicious. I loved this place. The pizza is so good too.

We visited this restaurant on a whim one evening in Santa Teresa and ordered a few pizzas (for 4). Everything was delicious and very authentic. The owner came over and talked to us for about 30 minutes. He's originally from Italy and makes all the pasta himself and many local restaurants actually purchase his pasta to serve their patrons. He also makes his own limoncello. It is orange as the lemons are orange in Costa Rica but DAMN is it good! He put the bottle down on our table and left it with us at the end of our meal. This was just a generous gesture and we were not charged for it. I really enjoyed my meal and experience at this restaurant. He cares deeply about Mal Pais/Santa Teresa and gave us lots of insider tips. Check this restaurant out for authentic Italian food and possibly some delicious limoncello.
